as graduating sr. I strongly advice you not to attend this university. What you pay to go to the school is now what you get out. The people working here do not help you leave or get ready for life after school, or work. People that go to cookman stay around cookman. I personally noticed this.

To be honest, I will applaud Cookman on certain things. Firstly they gave those who many not have done well in high school like myself a second chance. Secondly, the teacher to student ratio is amazing, you are ble to interact with your teacher on a daily basis faace to face. There are numerous tutoring center open and there is always extra help for whatever major you are studying at all times. On the other hand, the caf sucks... the students re stuck up and closed minded. There has school lockdowns, shootouts, fights, just rubbish going on at the school. Teachers are being sued for sexual harrasments, the president just got fired, the bathroom are dirty, my whole hall in every room there are nats/fruit flies in them. The school is one of top sued instituions in florida... tuition is rising... it is sad to see that a school that was built on such amazing Godly values is slowly crumbling. For the ske of Ms Bethune I pray that the school gets back on its feet.Dont believe "christian school" hype... just because they say they are doesnt mean they are. Good luk with your decision. Hope this helped. btw i will be transferring.. I want to stay badly because I love the faculty and staff and the atmosphere of this school but everything else like the ratty dorms, horrible food, the snotty people has convinced me. Goodnight. oooh lsat thing I have met wonderful people here, made some of my bestfriends for life.

Remember, Mary McLeod Bethune gave everyone of her B-CC students a chance to be successful. I believe that is the philosophy set to date. Many students are given a chance at Cookman.(Even the ones who would have never been accepted anywhere else). I advise students to look beyond what they can see with their eyes and look with their hearts. There is no such thing as a perfect college/university. You must find your niche and go for it. Anywhere you go (even the workforce) you will find there are people without proper professionalism. I will not quite my job because of their lack of discipline.

At Bethune-Cookman,I was taught to be on time. The professors frowned on the fact of students coming to class late. Also, I was part of this magnificent band. You were required to be on time there as well. I am always on time to work. When I say on time, I mean I am there 20-30 minutes early. I contribute this to Bethune-Cookman.

I work with professionals who graduated from some of the well known (better known) universities in Florida. I am just as or better equipped in my craft than they due to the more personable and well informed Professors at Bethune Cookman.

Please take time to reflect on yourself and your goals. Seek help from your professors who will help you be successful. You should be an intrinsic and self motivated learner. Make things happen. Again, everybody at Cookman has been given the same opportunities as anyone else. It is up to you what you do with it. BCU is a great tool to use to build a successful future for yourself.
