| I have to say that I regret a hundred of times studying at this university because it prepared me very poorly to work in the real world. They just taught me a lot of theory but they did not allowed me to develop my skills so I would already knew how to do everything once I got a job. They did not gave enough time for the students to practice in the classroom and the internship was WORSE. The people who worked in the hospital I did my internship did not have the desire to teach me. They would get mad at me if I had questions or if I asked them to let me use the equipment to practice when they did not had to use them. It is a very technical career where you barely need any theory to do a good job. You just need to operate a series of machines repetitively, and do repetitive tasks everyday. For being a pricey college it was suppose to train me 100% so I would not have any questions when starting my first job. I e-mailed the director of the program and she did not gave a crap about it. She just told me that I would learn things on the job. I passed a board certification and I though I was more than qualified, guess I was wrong, because all that B.S theory won't matter in this field. The doctor doesn't give a crap about how much you know, neither he is going to give you a raise if you have a diploma in a american college or a license from ASCP, he just want you to produce and give him results in time.|
I did get a job but for a couple of months but guess what? I got fired because the supervisor was not happy with my performance. How can you fire someone right away with no previous job experience, they could have trained me better, but the real reason I was fired is because I am overqualified for this job. They also gave me a hard-time, because they did not trained me either. The rest of the co-workers did not have to go to college to get a degree in that field, they just got trained on the job. So I wasted 30,000 dollars on a piece of paper and cannot get a good paying job.
At least I know 1 good samaritan who let me work at his laboratory while he was on vacation and got payed very well. (19 per hour). The rest of the labs only want to pay you 8-12 dollars per hour and that's it. You complain, you are out.
Unavailable. I regret going to college a million of times and studying this career. I could go to another college and study something else but with what money, I have a huge ass loan to pay, no job, and no respect. Thanks Barry!
