The faculty is nice, BUT the cafeteria food is awful, financial aid ignores phone messages you leave them, and the trascript office has completely LOST a scholarship form I asked them to mail out.

Super Brilliant
The first time I came to visit Barry was on a tour, and I was generally satisfied with the school. Than the secon time I came to Barry was during Start which is a three-day program incoming freshmens go to inorder to familiarize thierselves with Barry. On those two occasions, the staff were nice, the campus was kept clean, and the food was good. It was only a matter of time before I fell in love with the University. After that experience I moved in on-campus teh fall semester. After three months of being At Barry I realized that this was not the school I fell in love with. When you live on-campus you come to see the bad side of Barry. The on-campus residents have no home training and act carzy on campus. Almost every one that lives on-campus either do or sell drugs, drink, go clubbing five days of the week, curse, and have plenty of sex. On caompus it generally loud, the droms are so old their falling apart. In my opinion I don't consider Barry University to be a safe campus at all because The dorms have been broken into a couple of times at gun-point, thier was an escaped convict on campus once, who got caught by the police after three hours of hiding on campus, alos my biggest problem thier aren't enough security guards and police officers on campus. The ones that we do have doesn't even do thier job well by maiking the campus feel safe. The students raely particpate in anything, the teachers a re lazy and don't do a good job of teaching so overall the academics are terrible. Bottom-line unless you are a positive -minded inidiual who can handle problems very well and don't mind paying 32,000 dollars a year for a poor level education and to eat at a nasty cafeteria and live in old dorms that are falling apart, than by all means attend Barry University.

Yes, Barry is a Catholic school and yes there are crosses everywhere on campus. But students should be aware that this is a Catholic institution, and Barry does not hide the fact. However, Barry does not shove Catholisism down your throat, I'm a Babtist myself, and have had interesting and heated debates with Theology proffesors, healthy debates I might add, and my views have definitely been heard. You just have to have an open mind and accept new ideas, even though we might not agree with them, we have to listen and give respect. Having said that, Barry is not a bad place to study, the campus is beautiful, the faculty is accesible, and friendly. The school is going thru some major growth, and Barry should be a place to be reckoned with in the future. Barry yes has its ups and dows, but every university does, no one is ummune, college is what you make it ought to be, have fun and learn.
