Barry is awesome, there is no doubt about it. Most importantly, if you want to learn come home to Barry. The social life is excellent, intramural sports are plenty, and your opportunity to grow is handful. Come to barry, and never ever regret it. Just do it...now...

I attended Barry for a year and a half before deciding to transfer back home to the north. For the middle part of my freshman year Barry was a fun exciting place, but when 30% of the people who live on campus with you decide not to come back, and another 35% move off campus to one of the 50 North Miami high appartment complexes it becomes pretty lame. Barry is very expenseive and does not provide an effective college education. Tests at Barry generally consist of a list of 30 multiple choice questions over a study guide and then an essay question worth 10% of the points. It is literally just like high school except slightly more difficuly material. Barry prfessors do not make any attempt to expand students minds, instead focusing on memorization and doing what it takes to get by. In general the student body at Barry is pretty cool, but the universtiy atomsphere doesn't encourage college style interaction. Nearly 65% of all students live off campus and travel 10-90 minutes to school this means that you can't really interact with even half of the student body unless it is in a classroom or the joke of a cafeteria. Some students however do like Barry, if you are looking to hang out with just a few people all the time and go to expensive clubs in Miami this place is for you. But if you are like me and just a poor college kid who is looking for the full expirence you will transfer.

Barry University is a horrible, horrible place. If you commute- I guess it wouldn't be so bad, but if you dorm(especially freshmen) beware. If you happen to get stuck with a psychotic, sex fiend roommate who invites random guys over off the internet and lets them sleep in YOUR bed, doesn't take their medication, watches animal porn all day, smells like rotton death and locks you out of your own room via your chair underneath the doorknob...GOOD LUCK GETTING A ROOM CHANGE. Because they won't adivse it. The school seriously sucks, DONT GO THERE. You'll be making a huge mistake.
