Quite Bright
There are a lot of pro's and con's to Barry University and depending on your major and or personality, your growth comes from within. The campus is extremely small once you get accustomed to your surroundings and it is quite easy to build a community. The neighborhood is okay, but for some, its hard to set foot outside the gates without a vehicle. Resources are limited depending on your major. The Medical, Bio, Social Work and Law fields thrive at B.U. But the Liberal Arts are slowly improving. The Theatre Art program for example has come a long way but truly lacks faculty. The food is descent if you like cafeteria styled dining. The dorms are better than most Miami institutions. The school can be expensive for some but financial aid works miracles and getting a part time job is a must for most! Due to the economy, work study has been cut from majority of struggling students. Sucks! Depending on your degree, you may encounter sincere Advisor's who has your best interest at heart and some that have a hidden agenda(Not always harmful but that's life). You can sense that the university is growing but I feel that students should be appreciated a bit more. But all around good school. NOT A PARTY SCHOOL at all!! There are great social events, clubs and organizations and chapters on campus but it is not your cliche "movie" university. Barry is known for maturer students who care more about their academics then partying. But the beaches and clubs are just 20 minutes away. The school spirit is low but students do support their fellow sports when their teams are winning! Extremely diverse and home for many international students! Hey, its truly what you make of it. Too everyman his own I say!

Barry university was probably the worst mistake of my life!!!!!! That school is a joke it is not worth 32,000..it is worth maybe $32.00. First of all the financial aid award letters that are given to the students are ridiculous. My twelve yr. old sister could do a better job. The financial aid dept and cashier business office DO NOT know what the hell there talking about. For example if you to financial aid they will tell you one thing & if you go to the cashier business office they will tell you another. Nobody knows what is going on except for the fact that they want there money!! I could count on one hand the amount of faculty at barry that has actually helped me. I think all the money goes to the lawn service and maybe the president of the university. The dorms are old and have mold in them, the cafeteria food is absolutely disgusting..I think prisoners get better food, the library should be torn down because I had a better library system in middle and high school. This school is not worth 32,000 please save yourself the heartache. The "tour" that the school gives you is a bunch of lies after lies. Also if the school cost that much...why is it located in the ghettto?????

This is not a party school, if you are coming to this school in hopes to live an amazing miami/college life just like in the movies...don't come. I really love this school, it is great for my career however, many people dislike it NOT because they aren't learning, the professors are great. They dislike it because they don't party enough. keep that in mind.
