CAU gives people the opportunity to learn from top professionals in their respective fields of expertise, not just "books smart" professors. I owe my present position to the education I received at CAU.

This is an institution of higher learning that is working extremely hard and will no doubt be on the radar of many people in the not too distant future. It is appalling and offensive to read the comments of uneducated, ignorant and people who could not make it at this school. My current salary is in the $100,000, working for a publicly-traded company, and I’m in charge for over 2000 people. Most of my colleagues were top managers in their fields, with immense responsibilities and earning top dollars. Now, off course, there were some slackers, unprofessional and undisciplined students that received horrendous grades they deserved. That has nothing to do with the institution—CAU gave them a fair opportunity—and had everything to do with their own performance.

You will not find a more honest or knowledgable appraisal of CAU than this. CAU is a very young school - only 25 years in Miami. After achieving great success as a professional school of psychology, its curricula was expanded thus qualifying it as a university. I would recommend CAU for its APA accredited Psy.D. program only. That program is solid and the school's growth is based on that program's strength. CAU's atmosphere is definitely more professional school - not collegiate. It worked for me because I did not enroll fresh out of college. I entered the school already with a masters degree. If you perform better in a large university atmosphere, this is not the school for you. If you are a mature self-starter who learns better in small groups, CAU may be right for you. Excuse the cliche, but ... IT IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT. CAU will give you what you need, but you must have the maturity and drive to take advantage of it.
