I have to agree with students who dislike this school. I really don't like it it's full of unprofessional professor and rude the psychology program sucks and the advisors also suck. They give you the worst advice and if you do poorly in a class you have to retake a course so they make the classes all over again so you have to pay more and more until you lose your money. It is a sucky school it is so small a high school is bigger then this school no auditorium no gym and such a small library that hardly anyone fits in it bc it is always full. Please read all the bad commonents that other students have said their honesty. People there are friendly however they have made so much mistakes with my application. The advisor for the Master and Doctor program sucks Taiana Diaz, Irma Bermil, and Toni Ditona are the worst advisors ever. They told me I was not good enough for the program and that I wasn't worthy. I got accepted to university of Miami and the advisors told me I'm smart and bright student and should continue my education in psychology. Imaigine that CAU advisors told me to get another degree and look at me graduated with a Psy D in UM and I'm working in a hospital. What a way of destroying some students dream. Again please avoid this school I would like to mention that they have a tiny cafeteria in which they do meetings and workshops and a tiny little food store there and a small loung for students and no activities how horrible is that you can't even make any friends there. Finical Aid are helpful but stupid sometime in order to help you. It's a place where there are a lot of Latin people who work there and students too. I'm American and I feel that I'm out of my society I do repecr Latin people but I don't speak Spanish unfortually professors have accents that I don't understand. I'm sorry CAU but this school is cheap expensive and unprofessional. Parking looks like a jail place field with fences all over the front entrences and it's building is gray color boring add some colors. Make the schooling bigger it's so small. No book store either so up have to get hen online. No dorms to sleep so that sucks every university should have a book store, auditorium, gym, places to sit out side and more tables to sit down, a clean bathroom too. Avoid this school unless you want to ruin your education and future. If this is the school you want then go for if not try it out to see for yourself good luck.

I thought CAU was a good university but it is not it is very disorganized and proletariat there don't care about anyone they are rude and it is such a ugly, crappy , and boring school. This school school is worst then MIami Dade college I prefer Miami Dade then this school professors treat you bad they don't know how to teach and expects you to be as smart as them bad experience I left this school it's pathetic and such an emberacing school. They accept losers who don't get get accepted in another university. All they care about is the money my first experience was bad thank god this was my first time and now I'm out of the school I should of not even applied there. Professors makes fun of you and tell you that your stupid they are so disrespectful they hurt my feelings bad school get out if you don't have a choice good luck and suffer the consequences.

The I/O psychology department is a joke! The teachers are rude, arrogant, and waste their efforts teaching you things that aren't even relevant to the field of I/O. The students can?t speak/write the English language. The school is an embarrassment. It is so sad that this is the only I/O program in Miami that focus on the practitioner model. I would only recommend going to this program is you are ready to be unmotivated, unchallenged, and have the patience to deal with arrogant/rude professors.

Financial Aid of this school is the worst I have ever experienced. I received my loans two months after the beginning of the semester. I was "lucky"; checks are often missing, come late- and no matter where you complain, nothing is done. They do not care. Registration process is from 20 years ago. Dr. Morales from financial Aid is of no help either. They should not advertise as a school that offers financial aid because often students experience situations where they do not get money on time or have to fight for it in financial aid. It is as bad as described here. One person decides who gets scholarships and often good grades guarantee nothing in CAU. Work study is very limited. Stay away- do not come here. My family had to help me financially because I moved here on a last minute and was not working. I thought that financial aid will offer me some kind of assistance, since I applied for different loans, but as I wrote before I did not get it for almost two months. Thus, be careful. Stay away...

Please avoid this school. I read the negative reviews thinking that it cannot be that bad. IT IS. The financial aid is as bad as described; Dr. Morales who is responsible for financial aid does not care, people who work in her office are very incompetent. When a problem arises, answers such as "this is CAU and this is how we do it here";and when you call or ask for help you will receive following response "the person who is responsible for this is on vacation and will not be back for another two weeks" are very common. The students as well as the doctors who teach there care more than the administration of this school...

I don't even know what to say. Just like someone else mentioned... I walked in and RAN OUT! I was born in the United States of America, BUT my roots are Hispanic. My family has always worked as hard as they could to provide me with what they never had, a good education. This school, or should I say the students, are just appalling. This place is a slap in the face to intelligent, hardworking, well-spoken Hispanic-American Students! It looks like they picked up all Hispanic trash in Miami. I was the ONLY PERSON in my class that could speak ENGLISH... PROPER ENGLISH! I was in complete shock. I guess the students that like this school: 1. enjoy the easy way out of life 2. can swallow their pride, dish out 30k/year, and study in an environment similar to a third world country. See you later... or should I say, "Hasta Luego".

I find it funny how these fake students are writing positive comments about this pathetic school. Only losers go to this school that cannot get accepted into top graduate programs. Look at their admission page. They do not even require a GRE score which all top graduate programs in psychology require. CAU states their MS in I/O is third in the nation??? Based off of what? Fake student?s opinions. As we see on this website many of the students who post these positive comments are not even students.

The top I/O psychology programs as of 2009 are at this link

http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-psychology-schools/industrial-organizational-psychology

CAU doesn?t event make the list! Graduate programs in I/O Psychology ranked by US News are based on psychology department chairs judgments of program reputation. The three factors that are used to rate the programs are number of I-O faculty in a program serving on editorial boards, the number of faculty publications, and total student conference presentations.

What?s the average number of applicants applying to this school? Not many. Maybe that?s why you don?t require a GRE. You don?t have a large enough pool of applicants to screen out.

What type of I/O research is done at this school? Does CAU even conduct research? Probably not

If you live in Florida and you want to go to a school that offers a real psychology degrees go Nova, FIT, UCF, USF, UF, UM, and FIU.

If you follow this link you will notice that US news has not ranked CAU.

CAU is a very small university, it doesn't offer a lot of extra curricular activities, but it does have a great faculty of very knowledgeable professors who are available when you need them. The library is very small and loud, but the do have computer labs, cafeteria, and places to relax. It's a small group of people where everyone knows each other. It's kind of like a family. It's a nice environment. Great for a learning experience.

The financial aid is the worst of any school I have ever heard of. If planning on attending don't for a second assume they know what they are doing or are doing what they are supposed to. Check in with them EVERY SINGLE DAY and make them show you your status. Actually you can see your own status by logging on to Elm Resources.

Department of education should investigate this family owned remedial school for rejects with former students as professors and shut this place down.

The classes are not small. Poor quality education, the school lookslike a jail. The professors are nasty and arrogant. Students demands are ignored. Fees are extremely high for this trashy place. Before you be known as a failure, get out of this family business "university"

The campus is small, with very little activities offered in terms of student life but CAU has many wonderful qualities. I have attended schools where as a student you are basically a number and there is no real interaction with the faculty outside of class. The school is mostly for individuals who work and want to continue or complete their education. Classes are offered at night only.
At CAU the small classes allow the instructors and student to form relationships. The profesors are helpful inside and outside of classroom. For the most part I find the people at the school to be helpful. Of course there have been incidents were people were not so helpful but that has been few and far in between.
I think that if you are SERIOUS about getting a quality education from competent thoughtful instructors CAU is for you. If you have questions please feel free to email me.

CAU at bottom list #180 of students who pass state exam to become psychologist: www.socialpsychology.org/clinrank.htm Don't get a worthless degree here. They keep saying this school is accredited but just cause this school is accredited by some agency for sale doesn't mean it's good. I'm glad I'm leaving this place to go to a university that's well known in the state of florida and has name recognition. If you're going to take out a loan of $100,000 you might as well go to a school well known in the state of Florida. Besides it will look good on your resume and you'll get hired faster without questions.

Having gone to FSU for my undergraduate studies and here for my graduate studies, I can understand why undergraduate students don't like this school. It's a very calm and grown-up institution focused on academics and not on the "college experience". If you come here for undergrad, maybe you made the wrong decision, but if you're over the fun of being greek and cheering at football games and are serious about getting a graduate degree from an accredited university, this is the school for you. Plus, Miami is great!

The quality of education is poor and the students are loud, weird, rude and mentally ill. If you want to be known as a failure, have your resume tossed to the trash and be laughed at during job interviews, then you are in the right place.

I have just completed the final requirements to complete a Doctorate in Psychology from Carlos Albizu University. Having worked for 25 years, completed my clinical training, been in Private Practice for three years, and attended both the APA and NAN conferences, I feel experienced enough to comment on the faculty and training.

First and foremost, the University prides itself on cultural diversity, and most striking to me, was my Anglo arrogance and lack of diversity. My experience at this school has not only imparted the value of other cultures, but made me a better person.

Secondly, the training has proven substantial, effective and scientific. While in the program I questioned the value and quality of the training. However, now that I have worked with clients and other clinicians, I understand and appreciate what the faculty in this Program has taught and shared with me. I KNOW that I was well trained, and I am competent to practice.

It is not just the faculty who genuinely care about students, and the student's future clients, the entire Doctoral Department staff acts as if it is their job to help students complete the program. They will not complete assignments for students or diminish training standards, but they will support you like a family member.

I have attended three other Universities, one private and two public, and Carlos Albizu University is on par with them. Although difficult to see while a student, the training is superb if you desire to be a scientist/practioner. The faculty and staff take an amazing personal interest in the success of all capable students. Lastly, this University is a place to not only grow your mind and skills, but a place to grow yourself.

CAU was my choice after careful consideration of where to get a Doctoral in Clinical Psychology. So far, I am not impressed. On the contrary, I am shocked. The faculty (doctoral program) treats its students really nasty. Specially the doctoral program director, she is one nasty person, who talks down to the students and refuses to treat them like future profesionals. So far, I truly dislike this school.

If you are looking for the traditional college experience complete with ivory towers and sprawling campus, with 24 hour student life, look elsewhere... this is a very small, very specialized university that is, however, growing substantially from its "professional school" roots. However, the programs are very good, most of the faculty are very interested in students, it offers excellent opportunities to learn about working in diverse markets, and it is quite ideal for the adult learner. For a limited-size school, there is a good social life among the campus community, growing numbers of programs and events, and very good resources. I came to this school to pursue my doctoral degree, expecting little more than that credential. 4 years later, nearly complete, I have been very pleasantly surprised.

I once thought that Mc Donolds was built around the concept of a fast buck now I know that I was wrong. CAU is a cash cow that feeds its owners and it is out of control. If I had not spend so much money my first term in Global fee and other hinden money pit falls I would be long gone. So, to all the people thinking that CAU can offer you the well rounded education you need to follow your dreams, Please think again.
