It has been 12 weeks and we are half way through the semester and I still do not have my financial aid. I have been calling the Fin aid office non-stop and all I get is voicemail. When I actually speak to someone, they advised they would call back and never did. Today, I actually had to write a complaint and request assistance from the Director of Financial Aid. We'll see if that helps at all?

Last week, my friend was upset because someone had thrown up in a classroom on the Ocala campus. She didnt want to stay in the classroom unless it was cleaned. There's H1N1 virus and all sort of things going around. Her teacher told her to move away from the vomit and continued class. That is digusting! When she asked why it had not been cleaned up, she was told they fired alot of there cleaning staff and only 5 people remain to clean the entire Ocala campus! She is making a formal complaint.

Last week, a teacher accused me of plagiarism stating my paper was simply too good to be mine and followed that it wasnt the work he expected from the caliber of students at CFCC. The paper was cited parenthetically and had a work cited page. Does this mean he thinks all the students at CFCC are dumb? When I told him it wasn't plagiarized and that I wanted him to run my paper to prove to him it wasn't. He said, I believe you and gave me an A. The A is great for the hard work I did on that paper, but it's bittersweet considering the accusation. Aren't teachers suppose to check the paper first before accusing the student. Oh wait, that's right - he wanted to give me the chance to fess up. He actually said "fess up". Next time, I guess I'll remember to dumb it down to his expectations. LIVID!

On one campus, we need design programs and a suitable new computer with RAM space to do magazine layout. After two months we still had no computers. They finally brought us one and it had no programs or RAM. Finally, the advisor-teacher, had to personally speak to the tech department to get us a suitable computer. The main campus can't do anything within a reasonable time span when it comes to providing things to the satellite campuses.

There are alot of things that are good about CFCC, like the small campuses and some of the teachers. They are trying to grow and expand as well and update there campuses. The activities are nice for such a small college. However, the college lacks in important areas. It should not take 12 weeks to get financial aid. I should be able to get books for my class! Hygienic practices must be used in this day and age! The employees need to remember that there job does effect the students future and they need to follow through with promises they make and procedures to get things done, otherwise - all the pretty flowers and new paint mean nothing!

I wish I had never enrolled at CFCC. It's taken me over 3 years to get my AA because they randomly lost my transcripts before I began my fourth semester and I was not allowed to register for classes because they claimed they had never recieved my transcripts which I had hand delivered to them, had officialy sent by mail, and were confirmed my first semester. I've switched majors three times because I was told by a counselor to take an AS when I really needed an AA to be able to transfer to a Uinversity and become a CPA. I am transferring to Pasco-hernando community college because it is the same distance and can't be as unorganized and incompetent as cfcc. If you do plan on attending this school, get your counseling from elsewhere and stay on top of them.

I have really enjoyed my time here at CFCC. It's not a bad place to go to get your AA, and I've found most of the students and teachers to be kind and very helpful. Sure, there's no social life, but it IS a community college. I'll be transferring to a bigger university soon, but I cannot say that I haven't enjoyed my time here at this school :)
