| Not so bright | It seems that the people who are complaining really dont know how to make friends. I went to FAU for my bachelors degree and now I am getting my MBA. It is a great school. If you are over 21, there is so much to do. Ft. Lauderdale, Delray Beach, Deerfield, Miami, Palm Beach. The nightlife in boca has really picked up from when I started college in 02. I am 24 and there is always something to do. I was in a sorority and I was always going to parties, football games, clubs, bars. I love FAU. If you are a person who loves the beach, sunny weather, beautiful people, and a vibrant nightlife then go to FAU. Also, FAU is so close to major metropolitian areas that it is easy to get connections for jobs and internships. When you go to a college in a hick town, it is hard to get experience for your major. Unless cow tipping is your forte. The football team at FAU is really growing. They are one of the youngest teams and already won 2 bowl championships. If you are from out of town and are going to fau, then get involved in greek life and clubs. | Individual Value: A+, Campus Aesthetics: B | | | |

| Not so bright | I really don't c what all the fuss is about. Everyone is trash talking this rather young school way to early and not giving it time to grow. I remember when UCF use to be the laughing stock of the colleges in the southeast and now, after some renovations, its a top-notch university. FAU is in the beginning stages of what UCF did so just give it some time to mature. Everyone has the chance to make it the best time of their lives or the worst. I promise in a couple of years, this school will be the school that everyone is complaining its not. | Education Quality: B, Surrounding City: C+ | | | |

| Bright | the experience at FAU in the business school with certain professors was rewarding in that these professors worked in the business world they did not just read and teach about the business world. Politics aside the school of business is very good and the accounting program is now one of the best in the state. If one can ignore the liberal spin put on by the university and focus on your studies the education acquired and the contacts made can be quite useful in the real world. | Starting Job: State Farm, Preparedness: B, Reputation: B | | |

| Average | I was a transfer student from nyc coming to FAU during fall 2002. I am the van weilder of college. but in any case i went on the recommendation of a person i was in contact with in florida. I hardly did research , I just wanted to leave the commuter school i was in(hunter College). Getting to FAU was fun for me and i see a lot of other bashing the school which they have their rights. I went for the college experience. I understand the dorm wasnt great but I was never in a dorm before so this was awesome. I had my own room because my roomate from upstate never made it over here. I paid out of state and i m a poor dude. even with the aid i was getting it was very tough to swallow the bill. its always in the back of your head. Its very sunny over here during the fall time i went . imagine the summer. I had some good classes and i was ready to focus in school. I was doing Finance and boy i wish i did some research . academically , florida schools suck. a degree from the south dont mean nothing. and the account teach Venezia was a jerk he enjoyed failing people. the other teachers were pretty cool. Cheating does help . hey , you gotta pass. Food sucks. Well its one dinning hall and its soo small at the time i went. i hope they have another one soon . it gets way too packed during lunch and dinner hours. Tons of mosqitos so bring some spray and dont eat too much banana like myself. I didnt have a car and everyone leaves on the weekend. So u should learn how to do things. I was working with the mens basketball team. They suck and the coach is gased up about himself and cant really coach. The athletic department got a lezbo chic. jamie was her name and man they on an ego trip. the weight room for students sucked . but if you played football or something you can use the oxley center i think thats whats its called. They have been pumping money to the football program because the head coach carry a lil muster. its really nice . the football game was cool to go to . free bus to and from . free food and beer for tailgating. it was really nice. but i just didnt like the extrotion of paying for your meal and dorm or you cant live here. oh yea When FAU beat UM in basketball it was an awesome moment. A lot of the kids are broke. dont listen to what they say that there rich . floridas income is low so things are cheap . so a nice car is like 10,000 . Vs. $30,000 in nyc. most rich Boca kids go to UM and most miami and Ft laud kids come to FAU cuz its cheap. I really enjoyed my time down there from the up and downs . I met many cool people along the way especially people from really weird places. Caymen island , white guy from bahamas, asian spanish guy, turkey, lebonon, ethiopia, nigeria a former high school classmate , make that 2 that were from nyc of my school . weird. You gotta go to events to keep things cool. they threw some nice shows for the student body. Chapell , Noreaga, cam rom , Step shows. The beach pit where they had carribean clubs were cool. jerk chicken was nice so were roti's. A lot of light skin people not too many black , but when their was , they do know how to party and step. The carribean folks were soo awesome and the girls were even more. If you like dark skin girls wherever they from, your in luck because they really are exotic looking compared to nyc girls. a lot of nyc migrated family here as well . there pretty..slutty! But the girls are fly at FAU i must admitt. White girls in the south for some reason got big booties. If your asian like me , they might be like 10 of them there ! ha ... its very low . its either your super nerdy or super up there . I was the mild guy. But I do recommend the beach . If you have a bike bring it inside to your room or someone is gonna take it for a nice ride. do ride to the beach , its about 2-3 miles away by bike. and you can ride down A1A and its one lane so traffic is light. the beach houses are amazing and you just built aspirations from seeing them. spanish river is a plus. west palm is a beauty and there is a trail behind the school for jogging near the stream where there still might be a crocdile. also the school water sucks! do not drink it . bathroom is clean. sewing system... that is way cool . open on up and it can lead a maze in the school because this use to be an air base. its just like an underground tunnel. If you dont like the food your in luck , whole foods is across the street but you still need a bike because its a long walk! Water is 40 cents a GALLON! because drinking that tap water is no good. dont think the beach looks pretty the water to drink is well too. nyc has it better! ha. I lived in Algonqin and it was pretty ghetto and i survived. IRT is like the 5 star hotel but no one talks in there cuz the doors is all closed . the ghetto ones are still pretty cool.but i think theygot some new dorms since i was there. If you go there education is second its not a hard school unless ur in the wrong major. the library was nice , it doesnt close until 4 am and opens back up 6 am ! amazing . i loved it there . some how it was my favorite place. most kids commute and you can tell after a week or so. Try to get laid by a commuter person than a dorm person , its much cooler. having friends that cook is a plus. if you live in the apartments its far out there! but i heard things happen there all the time! LOL . RA's are cool and I only went for one semester but i loved every singles down and up minute of it ! | Perceived Campus Safety: A, Education Quality: D | | | |
