I'm very happy with my choice to come to FAU. I love this place! Lots of long nights in the library but it's definitely worth it! Also, I went to a foam party until 2 am, played intense games of ultimate frisbee on the Housing Lawn, decorated a float for the Homecoming Parade, painted myself up and went nuts for the BURY THE BURROW IN RED basketball game against FIU, won the Owl Hunt, rushed a fraternity and even had my own radio show here on campus. What more could you want, really? GO OWLS. P.S. Don't buy into these comments from idiots who aren't telling you the full story and probably gave the secretaries a snide attitude. It's YOUR job to be successful and some students think the university should just DO IT FOR THEM.

Okay, so let me start off my saying I love FAU. I transferred from New Jersey to escape the cold winters and be close to the beach year round.

The people at FAU vary from snobbish "Boca Bitches" to some of the most amazing people you will ever meet. Many people are stand-offish/scared to innitiate a conversation. You will be most successful if you are an outgoing person and willing to talk to anyone. Some people sit in their apartments or dorms and never try to make friends. These are the losers that say FAU sucks. In my first 3 months, I literally met hundreds of people, from around the world. People I know I will continue to be friends with for the rest of my life.

The campus is gorgeous. Sometimes when I'm outside on campus, I find myself in awe, feeling so lucky to be there. Everywhere you look, there is beautiful palm trees, and beautiful green lanscapes. Compared to other schools I've seen, FAU gets an A+++.

Now for faculty. I've only had 5 professors so far, being that I've only been there for one semester, but they have all been fantastic. Although some classes have hundreds of students, and the professor won't know you by name unless you make a serious effort, they truly encourage you to visit office hours, and they are ALWAYS there! they HAVE to be. All of my professors were incredibly helpful, and they will work with you if you have a problem. Of course there are some "a-hole" professors too, but every university has them.Overall, FAU is awesome. If you like the sun and beach, go. If you live in Palm Beach county, dont expect FAU to be any better than your home town. If you've been freezing in the north all of your life, and you are an outgoing person willing to get out there and make friends, you will LOVE fau.

the experience at FAU in the business school with certain professors was rewarding in that these professors worked in the business world they did not just read and teach about the business world. Politics aside the school of business is very good and the accounting program is now one of the best in the state. If one can ignore the liberal spin put on by the university and focus on your studies the education acquired and the contacts made can be quite useful in the real world.
