It was easy to be invovled in the different activities. I built strong relationships with the teachers and faculty. They became my mentors and friends. I felt secure and never threatened on campus. The students are overall wonderfully happy and encouraging people. I made friendships that changed me for the better and Im so glad I have the oppertunity to know them! The faculty was incredibly helpful and you wanted to do well because you knew them personally. The small classroom sizes made it easy to get help from the professors and get to know your classmates. The supplemental instruction program also provided a lot of extra help for those who were struggling in certain classes. The small student body of about 500 was awesome. It was incredibly easy to get involved to whatever degree you wanted. There was something for everything and most students joined a society, which allowed you to play intramural sports and get involved with people who shared similar interests to you. Chapel was also one of my highlights at FC. Everyday you and your fellow classmates got to worship God together. Truly amazing experience. When I look at what my life was like before and after FC, the difference is astounding. The people I have met here are the people that I will hold dear for the rest of this life and the next. You will be hard pressed to find students who are more friendly, loving, and there for you when you need them. But this college is so much more than just the friends and loved ones you make. It is the faculty, who are open and available to you at any times both at their offices and their homes. It is the staff, who work hard for the students to provide them an educational experience unlike any other. It is the church community, who support and nurture a Godly atmosphere for the students and give so much of their time for us. It is the academics, with their focus on knowledge, not for it's own sake, but as a tool for God's work. And it is the God this college serves that makes the biggest difference. Everything, from the daily chapel services to the devotionals to the sports to the classes to the dorms to the people, is focused and tuned towards the Almighty. There are those who speak ill of the college, saying it is a poor place for academics or that we are not open enough towards outsiders. To these I say come see for yourself. Come to this college and see for yourself how you will be embraced with open arms. We serve God, and that means we use his Word only as our guiding light. And it is because of this commitment that this college is unlike any other on this earth. Come and see Florida College for yourself, and understand why it really is a Friend to Youth.
