The education is quite different in the USA.Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
The education is quite different in the USA. I have a Bachelor's degree and the focus was learning, not testing. Slides, group projects and learn yourself is the norm at FSCJ, not actual classes and interaction with the teacher. I see FSCJ as money pit with no intention of teaching nothing, but take the money from students and let they do it alone. The "learning" is read a lot of material, talk with other students that know less than you, take quizzes and tests, and at the end, you will receive a piece of paper saying you complete your instruction. The truth is you could buy the books yourself cheaper, read then, but you would not have the certificate at the end of the course. All we are doing is paying for a piece of paper because there is not transfer of knowledge from teachers to students at all.

Honestly this school looks good on the outsideComputer Science
Honestly this school looks good on the outside due to its low cost to attend. As most review have it, the faculty that work with you on getting you into the right classes or correct program can barely do their job. Financial aid help was none existent as they would want information on parents when that wouldn't even apply to me(kids and wife) while giving you a run around regardless how early you start working with them. To obtain my degree I was consistently told to do one thing and then do another until finally meeting with program manager. The branch at the Navy base could care less of what I was trying to accomplish and were there to get a paycheck as most non instructor employees. I received my A.S. and took the first opportunity to find a new school to continue my education with fewer headaches. Majority of instructors were great but if another community college (St. Johns River State College) offers the same classes, I would run to them and then finish whatever there is left with FSCJ if that's your only option.

I can't say enough for the teachers atAverageDesign Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
I can't say enough for the teachers at this school. They do their job and then some. As for everyone else involved in the faculty have you ever done your jobs before? I mean I didn't have not one single semester where something wasn't inaccurate whether it be financial aid, deductions for items at the book store (even if I didn't buy anything) or an attendance policy that pretty much is set up to shoot every parent attempting to be a student out of the sky. Then as I watched my fiance walk, I imagined myself doing the same when it became apparent to me that this is the worst graduation ceremony I have ever seen. Herding people around like cattle practically pushing them through because you wanted to spend more than half of the ceremony bragging about your school and how good you are. Your students were so frustrated about the organization and mistreatment during the ceremony that they actually were leaving through the nearest exit in tears while it was still going on. You can't even handle something as simple as electronically transferring transcripts so one of your alumni can proceed with their education. I will never return to this sink hole nor will I recommend that any good person put themselves through this mess.
