Not so bright
FGCU is a very good school, many people talk negative stuff about Florida Gulf Cost University, it is not a party school like FSU or the University of South Florida but at least at Florida Gulf Cost University you will actually learn something, as I said it is what you are really coming to college to do? Are you coming to college to party 24/7 or are you are you really coming to college to get an education think about it!!! peace

Transferred in from a private New England University. From what I gather this University has made great strides in the department of quality during the past decade. The incoming students appear to be brighter and more ready to learn than in years past. Based on the growth in the area and the competitiveness of Florida state schools I see these trend continuing.

If one is contemplating attending this University it would be in their best interest to visit the campus and explore the area.

I chose this school because there are not a lot of students compared to the rest of the Florida state schools. I have been extremely satisfied with my choice. The facilities are all still fairly new, the faculty are extremely helpful and supportive (at least in the edu. department), and the student body are, for the most part, very friendly. The city of estero, as well as the school itself, is growing rapidly so there are more and more things to do here every year. I would recommend this school to someone who is looking for a small school and simple college experience.

This is one of the most underrated schools in the state of Florida. As one of the fastest growing schools in the country, FGCU is working hard to develop the university while still maintaing its eco-friendly mentality. FGCU athletics just recently moved to Division I and is already dominating.. Ft. Myers beach is only 15 minutes away and is a huge spring break destination for college kids from around the counrty. Greek life is also growing fast. The school opened in 1997 so the new facilities and the maintenance are first class.
