I'm transferring to UF after the summer and this is probably the best decision I've made. Most students transfer out of here. FIU might be good for some people, but definitely not for me. Don't go. Maybe if you're Cuban, but other than that be ready to feel isolated. Not challenging, too much spanish and not enough coherent english-speaking professors. No social life as well and this is an expensive school for it being in a horrible area. I'm leaving as SOON as I can. If you're smart you won't go at all. The officers are sneaky. If you have a night class, be prepared to protect yourself from strangers. Lots of professors stand in front of the class and assume that teaching means to read from the book. If the professor is not reading to you, they will ask you to get into groups, work as a team and basically do their job. Teach yourself. I had one professor who used the class for conversations. WTF. Why not have conversations at home online with fellow students? They waste a lot of time. The financial aid office is the worst so far. I can speak on that department because they always half do the job. It feels like you?re paying to waste time. Have a Question?
