Sort By: [Date] [Major] [Rating] English  Major Salary, Salary Trend, Satisfaction, Unemployment Quite Bright Fiu is a piece of shit University that doesn't really care much for their students, the only thing this school is good for is to DROP OUT OF IT! and the only "International" aspect of this place is the fact that the school whores out for anyone and anything from anywhere in the world with a pulse.I always felt lost, walking around campus there are so many languages being spoken, french, Italian, turkey, I swear I even heard some random person speaking in church tongues but no one EVER TALKS TO YOU unless you are obviously are douche who is too rich. Damn! I got a boyfriend here and it only lasted about 3 weeks with me doing all the work, and to think I entered this university thinking I was going to get a husband and marry by the end of my last semester HAHAHAHAHAHAHA what a joke all my expectations were! I lost all my passion, the counselors don't even know what they are talking about, classes are boring and of course your money goes out the window faster than a Cuban running from Fidel Castro, and what is the deal with the school mascot being a golden panther? I have never seen such an animal in Florida, I have run over many animals on the road but have never seen one of these golden cats under my wheelerz! I'm not kidding you or trying to be a clown, just look at the reviews and the percentage of students who don't ever want to come back here, the percentage is high and the red negative reviews fly! Campus food is another thing that bothers me, I almost always eat from subway and Bagel's Brothers because the crappy fast food everywhere is sickening. You guys give the good stuff from the buffet to students who can afford that little card that the rest of us are not entitled to because we are too ripped off from all the high prices such as: books, tuition, that parking lot I will never use cause someone else drives me around,the gym I never exercise in and who knows what else? Guess what? After im done paying all these shit fees, I DESERVE TO EAT FOR FREE AT THE BUFFET.I'M A FREAKING STUDENT WHO OBEDIENTLY FOLLOWS ALL THE RULES, PAYING UP EVERYTHING, SUCKING UP MY TIME, I DESERVE THE DAMN FOOD! It's funny how they keep the campus clean and beautiful but all the classes are so far away from each other, I have to walk a marathon and never almost in time. Many classes are not even available when you register and your time prolongs to like 2 more years of what you are supposed to spend. I'm almost 25 already and my wishes to open a school book again are nearly zero. I spent the first 15 years of my life in a communist system which was even harder and I never failed anything, but here I keep failing for dumb reasons and im probably just ready to drop out for once and for all. But I don't blame school or even myself, I blame the system that seeks to enslave, degrade and brainwash every good willed young person into believing all they are good for is earning cash, spending it in things they need and more importantly in things they don't need all for the sake of materialism and barely having anything to do with surviving or living simply. The education system still follows the Prussian model from the industrial times that totally takes for granted multiple intelligences in a classroom and the fact we have advanced too much for anything industrial to be ruling. Question everything you hear, human are not supposed to be sitting for such a long time, I want to be free, I want to create instead of being created or molded their way, but I'm probably the only female who hates money and is not going to run after it to risk everything like my sanity, health and my relationship with God. Oh right I forgot FIU doesn't care about god either with all the liberal trash they spew out in their English/Humanities program. Oh well, I think i'm out of here anyways. A lot of people underestimate the school because many commuters attend the school, as well as, international students. As a biology/pre-med major, I am quite contempt with my courses. I only had one bad experience as a freshman and that was my college algebra class. However, I do make sure to check out RateMyProfssor before I register for a class!!! Thankfully, the majority of my professors were AWESOME!It's not that bad, you just have to study hard and balance your social and academic life accordingly. It's not hard, I finished my freshman year with a 3.4. I am not completely happy with that because I did slack off, but college is not that bad!People have to understand that high school and college are two different ballparks! REALLY? Maybe you're not too bright to begin with. I am Cuban and yes I speak spanish, but whether you go to UM or Barry... WE ALL SPEAK SPANISH. Stop being so prejudice and ignorant. I love FIU, great campus, great teachers, great atmosphere. The bigoted people who complained about the hispanic ambiance... we detect prejudice, that's why you made no friends. But by all means, Leave, transfer and let us enjoy quality education you were wasting. And remember, unless you speak Navajo or any other tribal dialect, you're not speaking the NATIVE AMERICAN LANGUAGE.
