 | Super Brilliant | FIU is a decent school. The quality of the education was good, though a master“s degree at a top university becomes quite difficult at the beginning. If you are looking to score points from name recognition in your degree, go elsewhere. However, if you are planning on a career overseas people think they have heard of this school and it might help get your foot in the door. | Starting Job: Commodities Broker, Preparedness: C-, Reputation: D | | |

| | Average | Don't expect a college-type atmosphere. Don't expect to meet many goal-oriented, friendly people. Don't expect a beautiful, well-maintained campus. If you want any of those three features, don't go to FIU, go to the University of Miami. FIU is a commuter school, don't listen to what anyone else says, there is practically no social life on campus, the parking is terrible, and there just isn't any sense of community on campus - you don't feel like you are in a real college environment. Football is HUGE in South Florida - and you know something is wrong when FIU's football team can barely draw people, let alone students, to any of their games. It's a shame that some FIU students root for the crosstown Miami Hurricanes instead of their own FIU Golden Panthers. | Surrounding City: A+, Social Life: D | | | |

| | Quite Bright | FIU is a good enough school, of course it helped that they offered me a full scholarship. I do feel, however, that I will be a bit behind when I go on for my grad work at a better university. The international relations department was not challenging enough for me, but in evaluating my peers, I can see why. I wish I would have gone to a better school so I could have been surrounded by other students who were truly excited about learning, instead of just graduating. That being said, I believe that there exists many opportunities at FIU to make your education better, but don't expect it to be challenging on its own, you have to challenge yourself. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Friendliness: C- | | | |
