| Quite Bright | heres the thing, all the kids who gave this school a negative review are probably all the kids who would sit in the back of class and make "phat" beats on their lap tops. this school is not a spring board for a career as a musician or actor or what have you. this school gives you the basic, BASIC knowledge of the field your goin in. if you dont know the basic technical crap then this is a good starting point. also. DONT GO TO THIS SCHOOL UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO LIVE IN YOUR PARENTS HOUSE UNTIL FIND A REAL PAYING JOB. its a dog eat dog world out there and you gotta shine to get ahead. it can be done, it has been done. but just dont expect all the glam and money right outta school. | Preparedness: D+, Reputation: C- | | |

| Not so bright |
I was one of those people who walked into Full Sail blinded by all they could "teach" me in my quest to fulfill my love of music in the Recording Arts program. I started in September of 08, and thought that I would be out in the field in no time doing what I love to do. I made it through one month, but had to withdrawal because my loan fell through. Now that I'm out, I see just how badly they treat people. I withdrew in October, but I didn't even know how much I owed the school until close to January. Even then, for one month of classes and the computer, it was 7000 dollars. I had to leave the school because I couldn't afford it, and they're still going to screw me out of 7000 dollars? Those credits don't transfer, so really I'm paying 7000 dollars for a computer that really only costs about 2500 tops. Sure, my teachers were nice to me and I was able to speak to them on a personal level as well as a professional level, but it wasn't worth my time to go all the way down to Florida just to get financially bitch slapped one way or another. Don't buy into all the hype, because Full Sail only cares about the money you put in, and nothing more. | Campus Maintenance: A, Education Quality: F

First of all, let me just say I am not a former student of full sail. I am a former staff. And I go to a college down the road (Valencia). Full Sail is by far the worst corporate scam I have ever seen in my life. I worked there for 3 years. If your looking to pay close to 50K for an AA that wont transfer to other universities, text books written by faculty thats made up of mostly recent graduates, admissions thats only concerned about enrollements for comission purposes, student loans sometimes $120,000+ in the hole after living expenses, and flashy gear that you'll never see outside the school unless you make it "big time"... then this school is for you.
If your looking for a real education, experience on real projects to add to your resume, a degree that costs 1/3 of full sail's tuition and competent and knowledgeable teachers.. go to Valencia Community College down the road for the equalivent program.
Here they will talk all the talk and say what they need t say, I know because it was my job, show you what they need to show you, and make it sound economically friendly. When in reality you wont find a financial advisor that will discuss your debt long term, you'll take out 3 or 4 different private loans of 40K each, most faculty just graduated and works at full sail b/c they cant get a job (due to no opportunity for real experience), and most staff view full sail'ers as high school/ university rejects.
Believe me, I am a theater major at Valencia which is equalvalint to the Show Production program. It costs 1/3 of the price, the equipment is older but you get loads of real experience and teachers who know what their doing. Same goes for the film, music, and digital media programs. Do youself a favor and if you check out full sail... Check out Valencia and compare. Oh and did I mention federal aid maybe covers a 4th of the tuition... and bright futures... forget about it. 75% coverage amounts to about $1200 here out of a $45K - $72K degree. If you do decide on Full Sail... dont say I didnt tell you so. Take it from someone who not only has lots of friends who attended, but knows the business side of it too... | Faculty Accessibility: C+, Education Quality: F

I was very optimistic about this school even when reading some bad reviews. I figured it couldnt be that bad, but believe me, take all these negative reviews and run. If ME, the person who couldnt be talked away from Full Sail 5 months ago hates it, then it must be true.
I will start out by saying I am one lucky individual who got out of the Full Sail scam.I started in August of 2008, very eager to start my learning. It only took a few weeks for that excitement to die down. By October of 2008 i realized what a joke the school was and thankfully withdrew before it was too late. I got into a decent university only on my high school transcript, which was thankfully amazing (3.8 unweighted). Full sail almost did ruin that opportuinity though, as many universities were reluctant to accept full sails useless credits.
This school only cares about getting you in and getting your money. Once you are accepted and in the system no one gives a flying shit about you or what your goals are. They spend a TON of money on the outlook and admission dept. Once you are there you realize that it is all smoke and mirrors.
The academics are mediocre, although if you dont get one thing you better prepare to be behind and teach yourself. Do NOT come to this school expecting good teaching, as you will end up teaching yourself the majority of the stuff you already dont know. You are stuck in a dark, dingy classroom or the first 8-9 months of the degree program, and only get to mess with the good stuff they show you for a few weeks. BTW NONE OF THE CREDITS ARE TRANSFERRABLE, ANYWHERE!
The teachers are all self absorbed jerks, who are constantly bragging about their past comings of being a small town DJ or working on an 90's one hit wonder band. They are for the most part full sail grads and this is the only option left for them in their great entertainment career. Safety is a joke, as the security guards are more worried about parking than strangers wondering on campus. While I was there for 2 months alone I met 3 people in my classes who had their Macbooks stolen from them right outside the entrances. Btw, I guarantee if you talk to over half of the students that are currently there they will admit the school is a bit of a scam. And a vast majority of kids will say they regret the decision to go but it is too late. | Surrounding City: A+, Education Quality: F
