If your looking to get in to film you'll learn a lot more in a much shorter amount of time by paying attention and asking questions on set than at Full Sail. The placement department was a joke when I was there, didn't have any contacts for film students in LA. My pesonal Expierience here in LA has shown me tha Full Sail is NOT highly thought of and many people strongly dislike the attitude that many students project. This person is rude and he constantly is trying to get us to say and do bad things to an individual underneath him and I feel this is hurting my grade. He has been blackmailing some of the students by using our grades against us so we will mistreat this person. He even went as far as writing things on reviews that the students didn't write about this person. Its very childish and I pay a lot of money to attend this school and if I don't cooperate my grade is in jeopardy. This is the only way I can complain because if he finds out who told we will pay, as he stated it. I feel this is unfair and I am seeking legal advice! All it did for me is to put me in $65,000 worth of debt. Beyond tuition, you will need money for living expenses. You need to already have that money before going, have rich parents who can pay all of your expenses, or take out additional loans for living expenses. It is almost impossible to hold a job while going there due to the crazy hours that change every month. One month you might be in class 9AM-1PM and 9PM-1AM Monday, Wednesday, Friday, then 1PM-5PM and 1AM-5AM tuesday and thursday. Then the next month your schedule will be completely different. Good luck finding a job that will work around those hours. You will be told when first researching Full Sail that they have a 95% or so job placement rate. In reality, they have no "job placement" whatsoever.First off, you are not even allowed to speak to people in the Career department until you are 3 months from graduation, and already responsible for the cost of your entire education. Once you are finally allowed to talk to these people, they break it down like this: They have 50 or so new computer animation graduates every month, and they get MAYBE 10 job leads per month....and there is little likelihood that many of the students will even be qualified for these leads. Monster.com will help you out 100 times more than these people ever will. They tell you in the beginning they'll give you all kinds of help, but once you graduate, you're on your own. Computer Animation students will only be taught one piece of 3d Software: Maya. If you search for 3D animation jobs you will find that you need to know Maya, Cinema 4D, 3D Studio Max, ZBrush, and After Effects if you hope to have a career in this, so good luck getting a job straight out of Full Sail when you only know Maya. No one I know who went to Full Sail for computer animation is actually working in that field. Its extremely tough to get into, and Full Sail is flooding the market with graduates (like I said, around 50 a month).Most employers in this field don't even require a degree, just experience. A much better way to get a job in computer animation would be working on modeling/texturing for game mods and working at internships. Employers want to see evidence of WHAT YOU CAN DO in the form of a demo reel. They have no interest in WHERE YOU WENT TO SCHOOL. Campus Maintenance: A, Individual Value: F Have a Question?
