Stay away from this school. They will act nice & friendly to suck you in the school. As soon as they setup your student loan, they're not helpful anymore. They'll do anything to take peoples money. Come now, $13,000 just to earn a certificate & $30,000 to earn a Associate Degree? Such a rip off. Plus all the class you take at Kaplan cannot be transferred to any other colleges except KAPLAN. If your gonna spend over $30,000 on school, attend a Jr./Community College & then transfer to a State University. The outcome, you get a Bachelors degree & from a well respected college.

Waste of time & cost a lot of money. $13,000 just for a class to prepare you for Computer certification.

Quite Bright
Years ago, we had real life experience that was valued. Then, the college education became more important. So, I went back to school at a State University, but I was doing so well in my career that I left. Now, years later, I am making more money than most with an education due to my years of demonstrated management experience. However, I wanted to finish my degree for my own goal. I looked at on-line classes and I was very worried about the degree being taken seriously. So, I met with the VP of our HR dept (one of the largest companies on the Globe) and I asked her if this would be looked down upon. She said, NO! As long as the school is accredited then its a valued education.

I have been attending Kaplan for 2 years and I have worked very hard to get my degree. I transferred a number of credits from the State Univeristy, but I have learned a great deal about business and myself. Yes, I see people who dont put in any effort, but they get marked down. And I have been marked down for minor errors such as paper content, so I know they are grading fairly.

For me, this is about being a critical thinker and on-line works for my dedication and life. I think its harder to work on-line since you are on your own, but if you are a good at working on your own and sticking to structure, then on-line is right for you.

Also, lets face it, ALL schools are FOR PROFIT, they need the funding as they are a business that generates revenues and most Professors have a bell-curve. And on-line is a format that we use for everything in life. In fact, most major Universities are offering on-line classes because they want more students.

I will be going on for my Masters at a different on-line school because I want to expand my exposure.

The results we gain are based on the level of effort we put forth.
All the best...Joe T.
