Horrible. Terrible. Just a nuisance. This is not a school; this is a sketchy place for rich people. Unless you are rich and you're parents are paying the school, don't go here. The school work is a joke, I learn more just not going here. Whatever you do do NOT live on campus. Druggies everywhere. Sometimes its kindof funny though becuase people are smoking pot, and security comes and smokes pot with them SERIOUSLY!! Also, ambulance comes at least twice a month because someone gets a black-out from taking spice. It really is run if you dont care about what you learned, and just want to be in a chilled place. Don't get me wrong, there are some really cool people here. And the teachers let you cheat on tests etc. But, its so expensive and they make you pay for every shit. The school sucks money out of you. Going to the parking lot is like a car-show; bentley's, corvetts, maserati, etc. On the weekend this place is a ghost-town. To me, this place was too wierd. I get the creeps just thinking about it.

I am so embarrassed that I graduated from this university that I don't list it on my resume/cv when auditioning for jobs - same goes for my some of my peers. This conservatory lacks the respect and reputation needed in order to be considered for orchestra/teaching auditions. Most of the faculty is very nice at the conservatory (although some studios are better than others) and the dean is WONDERFUL. However, I was disappointed with the conductor and quality of the orchestra. The tuition is free for conservatory students which is great but it doesn't make up fo the fact that the rest of the university is void of any actual learning/intellect. Most of my friends already had degrees from real schools. I enjoyed relaxing the first 2 months at lynn (chamber music/orchestra/lessons don't start for WEEKS - which makes me wonder why we had to be there so early in the first place!) the gig scene was bleak for my first year. In retrospect, I should have transferred. **US CITIZENS BEWARE** The conservatory likes to perpetuate the image of an 'international university' and heavily favors foreigners when it comes to it's public performances concerto competition winners, showcases, special events.. This is done to get donations from old rich people in Boca who are close to death. (I personally think the conservatory wants nothing to do with the 'university' and wants to take over the old harid conservatory down the road) Please note, the purpose of these comments is to provide an accurate picture of what it's like at lynn - not to bad mouth this place. I made some really amazing friends! As I said, this wasn't the best place for me. I should have gone to a real college or university with a good music program.
