I had serious reservations about completing my education in an online format and did so reluctantly. My husband is an active duty Marine. Due to his work commitments it became increasingly difficult for me to continue my coursework in a traditional classroom setting. What was supposed to be a one semester hiatus from my school became a three year journey. I was disappointed that some of my coursework did not transfer in. However, the classes that I took were challenging and provided me with the flexibility I needed to complete my assignments and exams at any hour of the day. Don't be misled to think that because the course is offered online that it requires minimal preparation. Nothing could be further from the truth. Even though you may take all exams on the "honor system" (not all exams are supposed to be open book), if you have not mastered the topics you will not pass the exam. There is not enough time to look up answers in the text. Questions are written in a manner that require students to have a comprehensive understanding of the material presented in that module. I'm proud to be an honors graudate of this school. I received a solid education that can immediately be applied to my job. University Resource Use: A+, Surrounding City: C- Have a Question? SLU provided me not only and academic knowledge which was challenging and demanding, but educational experiences rich and fulfilling. Professors, administrative support staff and students conspired to provide an educational experience like not other. I completed my BA in Accounting in 2005. I also completed my MBA in Accounting in 2008. Shall SLU provide the PhD; I would have selected SLU as well. Education Quality: A+, Surrounding City: B- Have a Question? I rated everything about the school, which I have never seen, a "c". The online program moves very quickly and the professors are knowledgeable and friendly. If you are an adult learner, or someone who has very little extra time, I would certainly recommend the program. It is always better, if one can, to go to a school on campus and enjoy the college life, but for those of us who no longer can afford to do that, St. Leo's online programs are a great way to learn, and earn your degree.
