| Quite Bright | Ucf is a great school. The psychology department is amazing! I take online classes and go to off main campus classes. I really enjoy the classes offered and would recommend this school to anyone.
The only downfall is dealing with financial aid. They can be rude and they lose everything! My advice is to get paperwork in early and call constantly making sure they get so tired of you they finally take care of the issue. I spent 7 years as an undergrad, made it out with an Env Engineering degree and 3.5 years later am in my 1st year as an EnvE grad student.
For most of my undergraduate years the computer resources available increased, however now they seem to be cutting back, and the library hours are about the same as they always were, reasonable but not 24 hours.
Since I started in 1998 parking as gotten worse, that is, it went from crappy to really really really crappy. It'll also cost you $84 a year to park legally, however if you fight dirty and get in and out fast you can spend less per year parking illicitly. The campus police have nothing much to do, (on-campus crime is pretty low) the downside of which is the campus police will harass you for no real reason. I was pulled over once for stopping no more than 5 feet over the stop bar once and earlier ambushed (they literally charged me from behind, I thought they were going to tackle me) on foot by two officers for walking around campus at 11pm. Apparently they don't have solitare on their squad car computers.
Professors range from great teachers to sadistic jerks who get off on driving you insane, no one in power really cares how good they do as instructors. I have been subject to several errors by an apparently overloaded or just plain retarded bureaucracy, they will bounce you back and forth from office to office and have a hard time answering all but the most simple questions. The commercial establishments on campus will all rip you off compared to places you can find just across the street off campus.
Lastly as a UCF student you will be subjected to a barrage of mindless university propaganda, not to mention the questionable allocation of university money. We can have a massive new stadium and endless sports facilities but not a 24 hour library or sufficient parking spaces? Oh hey while I'm at it the sitting president, John Hitt, makes total of just over $900k a year total compensation as a reward for the mindless growth he has overseen according to the St. Pete Times:

Someone apparently thinks he is Jesus or something, most UCF graduates would kill their entire family for that kind of money.

If I call my department I try not to mention my name because if I do the office manager flips on the switch in her brain to be as condscending and hostile as possible towards me. I have no idea what I've done to deserve this. If I ask basic questions like "Did you receive my fax?" some members of their staff become belligerent and say things like "I don't know what you're talking about!" or "Look it up on the website!" If I could find the answer myself on that mess of a website I wouldn't need to call them. This happens to me every time I call their office. I expect it, and I brace myself every time I need to dial their number. I don't even like to receive email from them. It's so hard to get paperwork done, I started telling my professors to fax paperwork to my apartment complex instead of sending it to the department just so I don't have to talk to the office manager and her staff.
I have repeated the same methods class three times, not because I'm stupid but because they can't place a professor who can teach it fairly. The first time, the professor gave 0/100 on the proposal which was worth 25% of the grade, half the class withdrew. The second time, another professor tried to teach 2 Phd level semesters worth of material into 1 masters level class; this time, 20 people withdrew leaving only 5 people including myself. The second professor was reprimanded, banned from ever teaching the course, and the students were REFUNDED their tuition! Woohoo! The third time around was the charm, albeit, the professor obviously didn't want to teach anymore; I scored an A...finally.
