I didn't think I had money to go to college but the people at Valencia helped me get grants and scholarships. The classes are small and the advising staff are there to help you each step of the way. The faculty are learning centered which means they want to make sure you learn what they teach. I would recommend this college to anyone. Just don't hesitate to ask if you need help. Getting into this school is a breeze. On the other side many of the students are more mature than students right out of high school. I found the professors at this school didn’t inspire the younger students to do better work. Most of the classes were a little bland or are low keyed. VCC is one of the highest rated community colleges in the nation and it shows; the majority of the teachers I have had were awesome and made my semesters fun, interesting and informative. My top advice is to hold off on getting your actual AA degree until you know for sure that you have all of the courses you need to transfer to your next college; it will save you a lot of hassle...especially if you want to go to a college like UF that has mandatory classes for specific majors for transfer students. Also, utilize the rate my professor site...it can help you pick out some of the best teachers whom love to help you make the most of your education.
