I graduated from AMC in May 2008 and despite having done very well there, it is hard for me to muster widespread praise for this college. Even if it is a 2 year school, the faculty could be much better, the resources were a joke, and the course difficulty is laughable. I went to this school because it was 1) cheap, 2) easy, 3) fifteen minutes from my house. I now attend GSU, and I will be glad to graduate from there as well because it has its own problems. I will say that AMC is very small, and this is good for those who have made mistakes in the past with their education, or believe themselves not yet ready for university. However, classes are taught too infrequently. Go here if you can't get into University and then transfer.

Atlanta Metropolitan College is not a bad school per se, but it is lacking several areas. First off, the school offers little by way of courses. Many times, classes that a student needs in order to graduate are only taught once a calendar year. Also, there are no online classes whatsoever. Forget about distance education. The school is suffering through an enrollment drop and this has created a web of problems. This is a smart place to start for students seeking an AA degree before transferring to a university. As for the positive aspects that the school has to offer, there are some to be had. AMC has smaller class sizes that allow for more student-teacher contact. The classes are easier, and more laid back. Also, the school is nestled in the heart of the city, which is great for those that love the night life.

Atlanta Metro is to everyone a stepping stone. Its small, friendly and affordable. The faculty is cool and many of them have PhD's (Thats remarkable for a 2 yr college). The only thing that seen not so cool is the fact that students here hardly ever think of anything outside the state of Georgia. When it comes to transferring the choice of about 90% is Georgia state. I feel AMC students should think bigger and try working on getting accepted into ivy league schools.

As for the rest, I would say that Atlanta metropolitan College is truely a smart place to start.

I like my school and I would not have chosen to begin anywhere else. The teachers try their best to help and the students form study groups to help each other. It is not hard to get to know people.
