I think Albany State is s great University.Music Education
I think Albany State is s great University. Given it's status as a State University, It provides students with much opportunity. The University is small and allows you to study without being overwhelmed by people. It's like a community. The professors are great and they will mentor you. I learned so much from my professors who have the highest degree in their field. As a Music major, I was given many opportunities to perform and teach. I have the opportunity to travel and network with other students and professionals in music. The other plus is that it is one the nations 105 HBCUs. I love my school.

When i first enrolled at Albany State asSuper BrilliantCriminal
When i first enrolled at Albany State as a first time freshman it was okay. I enjoyed the college life..just as any person who just graduated from high school would. But, after i completed my first semester things got VERY old VERY SOON! The people here are friendly for the most part, but some of them are actually FAKE and SNOBBY! Everybody talks about everybody (even people that are suppose to be "friends"). And everybody knows everybody's business since its such a small school. THERE ARE NO SECRETS AT ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY!! As far as the ciruculum goes, the classes are EXTREMELY easy. No challenges at all. I actually had harder teachers in high school!!. Now the teachers, they're actually very helpful and understanding. They'll work with you and help you whenever you need it. But, the financial aid office is HORRIBLE!! They actually stole 750 in grant money from me and when I asked where my money was at..nobody would email me back or return my calls or help me. I literally had to drive from Atlanta to Albany (3 hrs) just to get a simple explanation. Anything that has to do with finances or transferring schools...albany state sucks at! They dont keep you informed on anything. Many of my friends were kicked out of albany state without notice because of financial reasons. They just dropped their classes and told them they had to be off campus in 48 hours due to "financial issues" with no heads up about the "issues". In the 51 colleges and universities in Georgia, Albany State ranked #35. Which is not bad, because its simply based on the value of the education. But, for all of the drama and the BORING city, save your money and go to Savannah State,Georgia Southern, or Georgia State...

ASU is an okay school.Quite BrightNursing
ASU is an okay school. What ASU tells you at orientation and what happens in the Fall are tow totally different scenarios. Financial Aid is a pain, the greeks are snobby and think they run the campus, events are not planned very well, and the surrounding city is ghetto and boring. All there is to do is sleep around and smoke weed. Its a big popularity contest, academics aren't a priority. The professors are alright I didn't really learn anything. I feel like 10% of the students are there to learn and the rest are there to play for 4 years
