Berry wasn't exactly what I was hoping it to be. First off, the town. There is absolutely NOTHING to do in Rome, Ga. Parties are few and far between. Dorms are pretty run down. Students are pretty stuck up and minority groups are non-existent. Over half my professors came from other schools and none of them were approachable. I asked my lit teacher about one of my assignments and she told me to look at my syllabus. My statistics teacher simply gave us power point sheets and read them out to us. First-year seminar was completely pointless. Yes, the campus is beautiful, but it doesn't make up for bad. Overall, I would not return to Berry, and if your considering it, I strongly suggest you don't. It's not worth the money you pay.

I have loved my time at Berry. I wouldn't argue that it is perfect for every student, so it's important to do the research and know what is important to you in a college before making a final decision. But it has definitely been perfect for me. The coursework is tough but manageable because professors are willing to meet with students outside of class time. The ability to work on campus was also a major positive for me because I now have a full resume of work experience to go along with the education I have received. It is also, by far, the most beautiful place I have ever lived, which could be a negative when I graduate because no where else could live up to the standard Berry has set!

Berry is a beautiful campus and the faculty are helpful. The worst part about Berry is the lack of diversity-it is very much Georgia and white. I think the school is making an effort to recruit more people of color and from other areas of the country. Becoming D III with the sports may increase its presence with other similar decent liberal arts colleges. It is a bit difficult to find one's place here. There are conservative Christians and wasted potheads/drunks all in the same school! Most of the students are friendly and helpful. I have not had any troubles with faculty and have found them to be fair. Some are challenging; some not so. The campus cops are quick to ticket but I think fair in how they manage the drunks/partiers-they usually take names and talk rather than call the city police (which does happen at a lot of other schools)
