| Quite Bright | Do not be fooled by the glitz and glamour you see on the website! I turned down plenty of other schools in my native state (california) to attend CAU because i felt that it was the right way to go. The staff at first glance was VERY kind (calling and sending reminder letters to make sure that i was all set up before coming to school) but after I stepped foot on campus, all HELL broke loose. Orientation was SO unorganized! I payed 650 dollars to "reserve" a dorm room and to take care of all events pertaining to orientation just to be told "oh, we're sorry, your room is temporary" i was later SHOCKED at the fact that other students who hadnt payed a DIME got rooms while I got a temporary room (in BECKWITH HALL which was terrible, my own mother had to fix the toilet! it smelled like a urinal, there was graffiti on EVERY wall, there were claw marks on the outside of the window on the first floor, it was freezing cold because the air conditioning was broken and the maintenance man refused to fix it on the basis of "i didnt fix that one, you on ya own"... most teachers arent concerned with your course material, matter of fact, i had plenty that were about as helpful as a hernia (not at ALL.)Let me just say that, GOOGLE and WIKIPEDIA taught me more than ANY of my teachers ever did! Oh, and the freshman seminar classes are a waste of time. You get quizzes on general information about the school... now how in the world is that going to help you in the work force? They have raised tuition once again (8000 dollars just for classes alone! not including food, rooms, or books!)its basically like youre paying all that money to learn things you could learn from the internet... oh and by the way, you'll constantly have the gloomy feeling that within 4 years (about 100,000 or more dollars in YOUR money) what you payed to attend this crappy school, you could have had a brand new range rover AND a condo PLUS a full ride to a state school..... thats the honest truth, im leaving THIS YEAR! | Social Life: A, Education Quality: F | | | |

| Quite Bright | clark atlanta university is not worth almost $30000 a year (room and board included). There is no out of state fees so everyone pays the same rate unless you commute from home daily ($14000 a year-still not worth it). Please do your research unlike myself. After a tragic event, my mother and I moved to atlanta for a new beginning in june of 2006. I was unable to research the school like I should have. I didn't want to attend spelman college so clark atlanta was the next best thing, so I thought. The school is located in a bad area, my car as well ass my classmate's car was stolen. My cis professor was held up at gun point in front of the library in broad daylight. After coming from a club, a male student was held up and forced to take off his jordans and give up all cash. A female student in my dorm was held up in the parking lot behind the dorm at gunpoint, and was slashed in her face with a razor after giving up her belongings. The school is under maintenance, thus, the campus looks horrible!!!! about four dorms are under renovation due to the deadly amount of asbestos so 1000+ students (most from out of state) are forced to find housing on their own and means of transportation (did I mention the area was bad?). There are plenty of extracurricular activities (sports, band, parties, parties, parties, and parties). So many parties that they even provide buses to take students to and from the clubs. | Extracurricular Activities: A+, Individual Value: F | | | |

| Not so bright | I have heard that this is a very nice place to go. Most of the reviews are good..actually, all of them are. But it is not easy to get help from this place, maybe it is just me. Financial aid doesn't seem to be of much help, especially for blacks. it could be because it is june and most people are out, but i spent like two weeks trying to get someone at the school. when you call, there might be alot of transefering you to a million different people before you can talk to someone who can actually help you. the people on the phone dont sound as friendly as alot of the other reviews say, but whatever. it doesn't sound like they want anyone to come there. | Friendliness: C-, Education Quality: F | | | |
