This is a program that you have to work yourself. There is no hand holding. You have to be independent and self-advocate. The classes are not hard and most students work. There are no TAships or graduate assistantships so good luck for trying to find a way to pay for school. This school is expensive. The tuition goes up each year with no end in sight. However, the curriculum is Afrocentric and its hard to find a curriculum that matches this at other institutions.

Coming to this school was the most expensive mistake of my life! I cannot speak about the undergraduate program however, I am in the graduate school and it is horrible! Everything is extremely disorganized. The professors either do not care to teach OR are extremely rude, smug and generally unhelpful.IF YOU ARE EXPECTING TO LEARN OR EXPAND ON WHAT YOU KNOW FROM UNDERGRAD YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT IT!Part of the campus is completely ancient as there are still classrooms with chalkboards, old wooden chairs, pencil sharpeners, no projectors and electrical outlets in the ceiling (go figure). There is a total lack of cleanliness in certain buildings on the campus. I am OUT OF HERE! At this point someone couldn't pay me to stay! If you are considering this school I advise you to do your homework on it...it is not worthy of being a first choice. It was good in the past but lately it has gone to hell in a hand basket!
