I'm a lawyer, who has decided to pursue the field of Astrophysics here and then at Georgia State. I attended an Ivy Leage college on an academic scholarship.
This large, 2 year university, has an open admissions policy. The quality of student ranges from "How did that person get out of high school?" to brilliant. Most introductory courses are taught at a very easy level. In contrast, my Physics 2211 course was every bit as challenging and competitive as MIT or Cal Tech. Professor Okafor was a hard, but fair, taskmaster and interacted with the class of about 20 students. He was readily accessable to discuss any problem at length. With tuition almost being free, this college is a good place to start, before transferring to a four year university, which may have tuition and fees of $35,000. | Friendliness: A+, Innovation: D | | | |

| Quite Bright | The faculty at Georgia Perimeter College are substandard compared to other community colleges I have attended. A professor at the Univ. of Georgia told me that the deans at GPC are very lazy concerning hiring practices. Top applicants often have to wait months to get job offers, and by that time these best candidates have found other jobs. GPC usually ends up hiring their 4 or 5th choice, which rarely are qualified. I noticed many don't seem to even know their subjects well. They need to get competent administrators to seek instructors with the best credentials from good universities. We deserve this much. | Surrounding City: A, Education Quality: F | | | |

| Quite Bright | GPC isn't as other reviewers are making it out to be; yeah, it all depends on which campus you go to. Best bet go to the Clarkston campus. There they will challenge you if you look for it. Don't go into this school, thinking its going to be an easy ride. Some of the teachers will challenge (and even get on your last nerves0 to get you to think. Hey, the teachers are already getting paid. Do your part and learn the material, instead of blaming the teacher. | Surrounding City: A+, University Resource Use: C+ | | | |
