Super Brilliant
Mercer is home to me and has felt like home ever since I have been a freshmen. At first, I was apprehensive about living in Macon. However, Macon has also become home. I have grown to love this city. It really is a great place to live, and if you don't think there is much to do here, you are mistaken and should look harder. Classes are challenging but manageable. The vast majority of proffessors are there for you and will help you if you go to them. Get plugged in, and no... you really don't have to be Greek. The majority of students at Mercer are not.

Bright
Mercer is neither the greatest school ever nor the worst. It's the typical "OK" school. The Business courses are adequate. Most professors are competent. Lots of students are rich Southern snobs, but there are plenty of interesting and genuine people too. The campus is pretty, but the surrounding area is not. If you're from out of state (like I am), or if you really want to be challenged to grow as a thinker or person, Mercer might not be the best place for you. As I said, it's an "OK" school. Sometimes OK is OK enough.

Quite Bright
This review is based on the helpfulness of the staff at the Macon location. Every time I call the bursar's office I get someone who has either attitude about helping me via the phone, or gives me advice which is directly opposite of that given to me by my advisors and higher up faculty. I was even given unhelpful advice from someone in the bursar's office and had to go to the Dean's office recently to get assistance. I am entitled to a refund check b/c that is what was arranged by my finicial advisor b/c I needed an extra $1000 to pay for my books for summer fall and to take a standard test for the education program. EVERY time I call to make sure it's there for pick up I receive a condescending voice, with a you'll get it when you get it attitude. It's almost as if they do not want to help find solutions and have the attitude of "let me see how I can cause you more problems".... Now the Atlanta campus bursar's office is the direct opposite! I love them! They are always helpful and always have a supporting answer to give you. I suggest to get your masters from Mercer Atlanta. Macon's bursar's office gets an F from me. I am currently writing a letter to the dean with all of my concerns. I am a professional student, meaning I am older, and have a full time job. I know what it takes to help those achieve their goals and if Mercer's staff doesn't become more of a helping community instead of being against it's students all the time their grade will continue to fall.
Education Quality: B+, Individual Value: F
