 | Not so bright | In reading all of the other reviews, I was astounded. I had an amazing experience at Oglethorpe. My classes were challenging and my professors were very approachable. The various staff members with whom I came into contact were friendly and helpful. The dorms were much larger and nicer than what I've seen at other schools and the campus buildings are beautiful. The social life was great, I was never bored. I feel, as a graduate, that my degree was definitely worth it. The financial aid, both merit and need-based, was fantastic; I have significantly less debt than my friends at other institutions. In all, I absolutely loved my experience at Oglethorpe. And, while the reviews here don't reflect it (they say the jaded have the loudest voices), the majority of my classmates would say that they had a great experience as well. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Collaboration/Competitive: B- | | | |

| | Quite Bright | | Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with Oglethorpe University. The campus is very beautiful, with a large quad and the rest filled with trees. The city of Atlanta is fun with a number of attractions/neighborhoods/restaurants to explore (not to mention the various sports teams to provide entertainment). The classes are not very hard though. If you actually apply yourself with the readings and papers and consistently show up, then you will learn A LOT. I personally like all the various departments and never have had a problem with paperwork. The school is so small that things run a lot more efficiently. The financial aid office also works very hard to help you out when needed. Classes rarely fill up so registration isn't such a pain. Socially, however, things are a bit lame. We have parties every Friday at one of the frats, which are generally open to anyone who wants to attend. People drink a lot of alcohol/smoke weed on campus but its limited to Friday nights mostly. I also like how Oglethorpe treats you like an adult. Guests can come over any time of day/night. after freshmen year, rooms are not segregated by gender. You have so much freedom to do as you please. You also have the option to form your own major. But, people here are too apathetic and its frustrating at times. | Scholastic Success: A+, Social Life: C+ | | | |

| | Bright | To those who had bad experiences they just did not apply theirselves. Yes private schools suffer but they keep their funds for students who qualify. I received plenty of financial aid if your grades are there. I would recommend this school OU to anyone who is living home for the first time and wants to come to Atlanta and not be absorbed in the big life. You can ease out as you see fit. The faculty is great and helpful. You find your own friends and social groups. | Campus Maintenance: A+, Extracurricular Activities: C+ | | | |
