SCAD is a great school; I think thatQuite BrightUndecided
SCAD is a great school; I think that the location is its highest selling point, however, there are some great program that really sell for themselves too: The Fibers department has one of the most extensive facilities in the nation with a Jacquard AVL loom, and most of the teachers have MFAs from Cranbrook, the leading Fibers Masters program probably in the country. The computer arts department is probably the most heavily funded and well-regarded. If you are going to major in something related to computer art, go to SCAD. A 500,000 ft. computer arts facility will be opening soon. The scary part about SCAD is the heirarchy and its corruption rumors. Some people don't like the foundation courses required for every major, but I think it gives everyone a solid visual arts foundation, depending on the teacher. Speaking of teachers, there are good ones and bad ones in foundation courses, but generally once you reach your major, the professors are excellent.

I definately recomend this school. This is not a big city but a friendly one which makes it easier to settle with the change. If you really love the arts and can find yourself motivated enough, there is enough top of the line equipment and other talented people to help you grow.
