Lots of problems and conflict at the clinic. Definitely wish I had made a different choice.

This comment pertains to the vet school. Grading in fourth year is a personality contest and not a contest of knowledge. Faculty are more concerned with the display of their own brillance rather than teaching the students anything. Students are used as janitors for the animals. It is a horrible place and given the chance I would go anywhere else. Politics is the way to success in this school.

I had lived and worked in the town of Athens for 3 years before I actually became a student and had often heard people talk with such pride of UGA and what a good school it was. I was so excited to finally share that experience. But I was sadly disappointed. The administration, professors, and students have lost touch with what a university is all about--education. Instead, they are concerned with FOOTBALL and asthetics!!! FOOTBALL COMES BEFORE EVERYTHING!! And the Alumni who donate money for football come before the students who pay tuition. Students cant even get tickets to their own school football games. Isn't the school there for the students? The football players have personal 24/7 tutors and are basically handed degrees (FOR FREE!! as well as other perks such as cars etc) while the rest of us have to earn them. To me, this cheapens all of our degrees. And the students at this school are enough to make you puke!! I have never seen such spoiled, babied, whiny, materialistic, little brats in all my life. They drive cars that most working adults cannot afford and they dine out in the AThens restaurants every night and seem to have an endless expense account for imported or otherwise expensive beer. Whatever happened to Ramen noodles and Old Milwaukee's Best for the struggling college student? Most of them have no life experience whatsoever and have never worked a job in their lives. Its thoroughly disgusting. But no worries for them in finding a job when they get out because mommy and daddy or uncle Billy-Bob are sure to hook them up. It all works on the Good O'l Boy system down here. I did not encounter one student at UGA that I would consider brilliant or even intellecutally stimulating. Perhaps they should just make it a Football college and stop trying to pretend they care about education. They would keep most of their students because they arent concerned with an education either. And those of us who do want an education would know to go else where.

The University of Georgia is a good school. You'll no doubt get a quality education. However, for graduate students, you learn quickly that there is more red tape here then most other universities. Compared to other schools I've been to, the administration (from the President to Dean's and sometimes Department Heads) are more considered with money and production then they are about the students, campus and overall environment.
