I can't say enough about my entire positive experience at Valdosta State University. The beautiful campus is just the beginning the professors in every department were very knowledgeable and helpful. The vision of true leadership that I learned and how to be a self starter and properly manage organizations in a smaller class size environment is why I am so successful today. I thank VSU everyday for the experience and I am proud to be a VSU Alumni!! If I had the opportunity to return to any university it would no doubt be VSU!

This university looks pretty when you visit however, incoming freshman and transfer students, beware that once you live here, it is not pretty, actually more dreadful and stressful. The freshman meal plan is absolute crap, unless you like having just about the same choices everyday like pizza and pasta, which will have you on the fast track to the freshman fifteen (just saying, construction during classes makes it hard to hear your professor and learn the material. The professors I find are half and half, some are really good and the others are just crap. Also keep in mind, they get paid whether you pass or not. If you're taking a large number of credit hours, it will be very hard to get a good gpa even if you work your butt off everyday and every night. The city itself isn't really convenient.. the mall is dinky and really it looks like there's a lot of things but its mainly restaurants... All of the people I knew from back home already transferred before the second semester started. Oh and the dorms are crap too. Very expensive for a tiny space with community bathrooms (that are so disgusting even the janitors refuse to clean it sometimes and will charge fines to have it cleaned). The halls are always noisy, so don't plan on getting a good nights sleep. Also as far as roommates go, make sure you know your roommate well before you pick them (if you get that opportunity) because you may think they are a nice person but, the saying "you don't really know a person until you live with them" is sooooooo true! I feel like not living on campus would have made this year 20x better but unfortunately, you have to live on campus as a freshman who does not maintain a permanent residence less than 50 mi away. I do not recommend this university to anyone really.

I can not wait to leave VSU. The staff is rude, the bookstore rips you off HORRIBLY, students are either ghetto or snooty, and the university is "growing"..which means there is continuous construction and no growing is being made, except the line of cars that are fighting for a parking spot.

The teachers either don't speak English, or they do but do not feel like they need to assist you in any way.

The food is subpar, but ok...it's the one thing I will say is good.
If you live on campus, fight to get Georgia Hall...but beware that they will fine you if the hall has issues with other students.

Lastly, HallNet (the wifi) is HORRIBLE. Does not work. Ever.Needless to say, I will finish my last final this Friday, then I'm leaving and never coming back to this so-called "School."
