I can not wait to leave VSU. The staff is rude, the bookstore rips you off HORRIBLY, students are either ghetto or snooty, and the university is "growing"..which means there is continuous construction and no growing is being made, except the line of cars that are fighting for a parking spot.

The teachers either don't speak English, or they do but do not feel like they need to assist you in any way.

The food is subpar, but ok...it's the one thing I will say is good.
If you live on campus, fight to get Georgia Hall...but beware that they will fine you if the hall has issues with other students.

Lastly, HallNet (the wifi) is HORRIBLE. Does not work. Ever.Needless to say, I will finish my last final this Friday, then I'm leaving and never coming back to this so-called "School."

I went to Valdosta for my freshman year (i am transfering this year) There is ALWAYS construction going on around campus.. MY friend who went there last year said it was the same thing they say they will finish by a certain date but never do. Its not like there is consturction on one part it is everywhere. Not all but the majority of the professors where very rude and unhelpful. There was mold in my dorm for a year and we asked for help it took them 5 months to fix it. In the begining of living in the dorms my roommate bled on my bed and stole things from me when i complained they blamed it on me and i had to get my parents to yell at them and they finally moved me but it was a hassel. this school is so unorganized the food is nasty there are flies flying around in the cafeteria if you dont have a car you are basicaly stuck on campus. the buses take forever in the day time the library does not have enough computers i would not recommend this school it's for slacker kids. i would walk out onto campus and see kids smoking pot...

Not so bright
Before I crush the school, let me just say that I have met some of the most brilliant and inspiring professors at Valdosta. My freshman english professor( Dr. Hall) was amazing she made learning fun. Besides the professors, Valdosta is a complete waste of time. The students are either frat/soro jerks or atheletes who think they are better than everyone. Most of the people who come to Valdosta come from south georgia. The white population is extremely country, closeminded, and conservative. There is not alot of mingling between different ethnic groups. This is not a diverse campus. The on campus food is gross and overpriced. Most of the students only care about partying and sleeping with as many people as possible. The dorms are absolutely disgusting. In my dorm, there were many incidents of people trashing the bathrooms, hallways, stealing, and even setting fires on every single floor. I have been woken up many times at 4 in the morning because soomeone set a fire in one of the halls and everyone had to stand outside for hours...and they never caught the person. If you want to party, not get a great education, and be surrounded by rascist, closeminded individuals, than vsu is for you. Go Blazers
