 | Super Brilliant | The other reviews pretty much get it right. The positives of HPU are the cost, not too expensive for a private school, small class sizes, accessible professors, diverse mix of students and just the overall fun of living in Hawaii. The negatives include all of the homeless people on Fort Street Mall, the fact that parking in downtown is expensive, the bus can be crowded, and the bookstore is way too expensive. There is one other thing that I am surprised nobody else mentioned and it is mostly positive. The students at HPU are really HOT, both the guys and the girls. I'm not just saying this because I went there. There have been actual multiple Miss Hawaii and Miss America winners to come from this school. I don't know if it is the beach or the fact that the food isn't so great and the elevators don't work well so everybody has to take the stairs, but lots of students are in good shape and above average sexy. Really even the nerds are hot, lots of cute Japanese, Korean and Norwegian girls. | Surrounding City: A+, Perceived Campus Safety: C+ | | | |

| | Quite Bright | I'll try to highlight both the good and bad of my experience so far. HPU has many positive qualities. Hawaii is beautiful, most of the professors are good and easy to talk to, and the college is surprisingly not that expensive. It costs around $10,000-20,000 less than a private school education on the mainland. However, there are some reasons why it is cheaper. Its in Hawaii but its not like staying at a fancy resort. Don't expect luxury. Many of the buildings are old and the campuses could use some updating. HPU is building new dorms down by Honolulu harbor I guess and they might be awesome someday but they probably won't open for a few years. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Collaboration/Competitive: B | | | |

| | Quite Bright | The class content and campus are really beautiful. I felt challenged in class and had excellent lectures that I even enjoyed. However, HPU is a school I wish I never went to. The students are often arrogant out of state kids with little to no respect. The teachers out of the classroom often look down on students and offer little to no help. I did well in my classes but I genuinely feel that HPU was not right for me. I got into a car accident right before school and HPU is not handicap friendly. There is no ramps or even help. I spent long amounts of time tryin to climb the long stairs in my cast and crutches. I also found it difficult to maneuver in the small classrooms and find a large comfortable seat. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Individual Value: F | | | |
