University of Hawaii at Hilo is the public undergraduate liberal
arts and science university in the State of Hawaii.
Our primary mission is to inspire creative and critical thinking,
in every student, through personal interaction, research and applied learning. Students enjoy an average class size of 22, interacting
with their professors on an informal basis, and participating in
hands-on learning situations outside of class. The entire island
of Hawaii is used as a learning laboratory. This
will include the lava fields of Kilauea Volcano, and the
