I attended Central College for three and a half years. I experienced what it was like to have a professor call me a liar to most of a department, the assistant dean of students, and the dean of students. I also experienced what it was like to have a few professors encourage me and all the others tearing me apart and waiting for me to fail. I have transferred out of Central College because it was not worth my time or money. I never opened a book and still received mostly As. The classes did not challenge me at all and I feel like I have learned nothing. Central is conscerned about their statistics, they like to make sure students get out in four years with a degree even if it is not all you hoped for. I felt like a statistic. In my experience they back the faculty before they back their students. There are still good professors on this campus, it just depends what department you want to go into. Students on the campus are GREAT! There are always things going on that you can get involved with. Everyone is on the same level; upperclassmen willing help underclassmen if they have questions and walking around campus social groups are mixed with all different years of students.

Although this school has some great students and faculty, there are some serious shortcomings:

Pella - You are stuck in the middle of NOWHERE
Dry Campus - They try to stop drinking by banning it. This is just a dumb policy. The result is students driving off campus to drink, which creates the even bigger problem of drinking and driving. They need to learn to treat students like adults. Facilities - Small school's just can't compeete with the vast resources of a large univeristy. Labs, libraies, etc, are rather limited.
