After graduating from Dordt, I went to a top-notch grad school and found it was no harder than the undergrad courses I took at Dordt. My master's degree took about the same level of rigor as my BA. I believe I learned more from Dordt's dedicated, knowledgeable professors than I would have from the TAs who teach undergraduates at most ivy league schools. But do take advantage of the study abroad programs if you go here -- there are some great ones, and it's good to get outside of the relatively small community Dordt is located in.

This college has students that are very friendly. The girls are quite shy; the teachers are friendly... the downside is that the people of sioux center are VERY closeminded and live sheltered lives in a bubble. Typical right wing hostility toward gays and a lack of diversity is prolific here. Oh and the cops will pull you over for going 3 over the speed limit in order to reach their quota. The surrounding city is terrible and if it weren't for how nice the students are, I would be gone.
Education Quality: A+, University Resource Use: F

Dordt was a very positive experience for me in a variety of ways. It was good (stretching) to be far away from home and forced to be on my own, yet have great support from professors, friends, local church & families there...I appreciated the perspective I receieved in most of the courses. The courses were almost all very solid academically and spiritually and encouraged a searching attitude. I think this is where I developed the true strength in my faith. It became my owner rather than inherited. I loved having the small classes and the personal aspect with the professors. I felt quite well prepared when I went to professional school even though Dordt was MUCH smaller than the undergrad that most other vet students had been to.
