Overpriced school good onlyAveragePreMed and Medical
Overpriced school good only for babysitting kids who haven't fully transitioned to adulthood. You are unlikely to learn skills that are actually useful in the real world.

I had a feeling even before I gotQuite Bright
I had a feeling even before I got on campus that this school was the wrong choice. Unless you're 100% SURE that this is the place for you (& I'm assuming you're REALLY into the arts) then DO NOT GO TO LUTHER COLLEGE. They really drew me in with their whole sustainability thing. They're very Eco-friendly and the campus is beautiful but it cannot make up for unfriendly, cult-like environment of this school. I knew I would be leaving & transferring from day 1. After doing my research I found that I would be receiving 8 credits that are transferrable. Out of 16 I would receive from Luther. Most classes here are "Luther specific" so you don't leave. They're losing people here. 60-67% (I'm using that percentage loosely. I got it from a counselor at Luther) of all people who leave, leave within the first 2-3 weeks. Because they realize how bad this place is and that its not what they thought. I would be paying 3,125$ for each credit. 8 of them.... My parents told me to withdraw. IF YOU GO: BE PREPARED TO STAY FOR 4 YEARS. Almost nothing will transfer as you expect it to. The classes that DO transfer will not transfer as 4 credits or credit hours. Mostly 3 or 2. Beautiful, beautiful campus, pretty good teachers but HORRIBLE student body. Lots of cliques. I found it hard to make friends & I'm a pretty "normal" friendly, (and if I dare say cool) friend and person. Decorah sucks. Almost everyone is a music education major & a total pain in the ass. Everyone else is either there on a scholarship for sports(& hate it) or because they're from decorah. No diversity. Everyone is from Minnesota or Iowa. The occasional Wisconsin kid but... A lot of Jesus freaks. A lot of people against progression & the LGBT community. Less liberals than you might think.

I went to this school for two terms.BrightMusic - Performance
I went to this school for two terms. The music program was great and so were the facilities. However, I felt the faculty outside of the music department were adequate at best. One professor in the Paideia department brought her teenaged son's socks to class and made us perform sock puppet plays. Moreover, she would complete my sentences while reading a text, because she assumed that I couldn't pronounce the words. Another factor that caused my experience at Luther to be poor was its medical care. I had a respiratory infection for little over a month, and all the medical center provided were cough drops for the first two weeks. My teachers told me to stay home from class, and I was unable to sing. It greatly impacted my grades. At the end of the month, the infection went to my lungs and I had to be administered breathing treatments. I soon transferred to the college back home and I couldn't be happier. Although my academic experience was lacking at Luther, the students are truly wonderful and caring people.
