Landscape Architecture
Not a great design program overall, but generally sound in its technical education. There were a couple of professors that had been there for years and years and had nothing fresh to teach. The program used to be very advanced in computing and GIS, but it has fallen behind and I often see portfolios of recent graduates that feel very dated. The program has a focus on regional planning and community development. If you are interested in urban design, design theory, or garden design I think you will be disappointed in the program.Moscow is a great small town, but SMALL. WSU is only 8 miles away which means there are many opportunities for lectures and concerts. Class sizes are pretty small and faculty are readily accessible.

Just as any other school UI has its ups and downs. It is a good school academically, better than most no doubt. Moscow is a nice college town but don't expect to hit clubs every night, its not that type of place. The palouse is absolutely stunning at times, and was even featured in National Geographic. The campus is beautiful as well, especially in the Fall and Summer. Students are fun and friendly, the school is a perfect size, not to small, not too big, but does offer big opportunities and early research opportunities.

It gives a good education, But my downsides are things such as the math (polya) lab where you must clock in and out you have 1 class a week and there is little personal attention. They are spending money on dumb things such as renovating our football dome, even though we are terrible and always will be. The food services are poor, maintenance is week. And the Town of Moscow is depressing and there is little to do. It has one of the most awkward college feels imaginable. Plus there is no school spirit. a School of 12 thousand and a town of 25,00 can not pack the smallest gym in division 1 football and they find the need to renevate it. Freshman dormitories are poor.
