I don't go to U of I, but I've grown up in Moscow, the surrounding town, my whole life. There is nothing to do here. We don't have a movie theater because its been under construction all summer, only a couple bars, and the pool/water park is decent when its not overflowing with younger children. You'll have to drive to Spokane, Pullman, or the Lewiston/Clarkston area to have some fun.

The locals here are just plain weird. They try to keep the town as it has been since it was founded. Expect protests on Main Street on the weekends, "hippies", and qwerky smelly small businesses. Every year these people come out of their hill homes when Hemp Fest, the Ren Fair, and Rendezvous in the Park rolls around. I can't say much about the college side of the town, as I'm sure it's quite different. If you're conserned about the surrounding town, I'd give it a thumbs down.

It gives a good education, But my downsides are things such as the math (polya) lab where you must clock in and out you have 1 class a week and there is little personal attention. They are spending money on dumb things such as renovating our football dome, even though we are terrible and always will be. The food services are poor, maintenance is week. And the Town of Moscow is depressing and there is little to do. It has one of the most awkward college feels imaginable. Plus there is no school spirit. a School of 12 thousand and a town of 25,00 can not pack the smallest gym in division 1 football and they find the need to renevate it. Freshman dormitories are poor.
