founded in 1898, is a private, church-affiliated university. Undergraduate programs
are offered through the Colleges of Commerce and Liberal Arts
and Sciences, the Schools of Education, Music, and Computer Science,
Telecommunications, and Information Systems, and the Theatre School. Its 36-acre
Lincoln Park campus is located three miles north of the
Loop in Chicago; the Lewis Center is located in downtown
Chicago. DePaul is dedicated to teaching, research, and public service.
Among these three fundamental responsibilities, this university places highest
priority on programs of instruction and learning. Research at
the university entails not only the discovery and dissemination of
new knowledge, but also the creation and interpretation of artistic
works, application of expertise to enduring societal issues, and development
of methodologies that improve inquiry, teaching and professional practice.
