I attended a four-year private university before comingAverageOther
I attended a four-year private university before coming to ECC. I wasn't expecting a community college to provide the "quality" education I was paying for 3,000 miles away. Elgin Community College has impressed me - the experienced teachers, the resources and student diversity are absolutely amazing. Of course, no college is perfect but this college is a hidden treasure at an affordable price.

Question
I can't wait to transfer out of ECC!Quite BrightNursing
I can't wait to transfer out of ECC! The advisors tell you different things and are extremely hard to get ahold of, unless you want to book an appointment 3 weeks out or wait 2 hours for in the office. I've had some quality teachers at first, however the teachers who are dealing with my major lack professionalism and don't seem to want to help their students in general. I had a horrible experience with the Phlebotomy program specifically. I was almost removed from the waitlist for clinicals after being told I was lying about contacting the appropriate people in regards to the clinical site I was to be placed at. In reality, I was not given the proper contact information, and the procedure was not fully explained. I was not the only student I encountered who had this problem, and it seemed to happen at other clinical sites as well.

Question
I'm surprised no one has posted for thisArt & Design Department
I'm surprised no one has posted for this school yet. Since this is a two year school I transferred to another school I can't answer the job related questions. This was a very good school. It has multiple programs for multiple degrees. Plenty of classes and the teachers were all friendly and knowledgeable. ECC has so many great classes I have no doubt that I will return to take additional classes for my own enjoyment. When people want to go to a 4 year institution directly from high school, I think of ECC and wonder why would they when ECC is down the street? Hasn't people told them how much they can accomplish here and how much cheaper it is?
