There is nothing to do here, if you are not in a Frat or sorority then many will turn their nose at you. The parking here is horrible, there is a little over 4000 parking spots but they give out over 7000 parking passes. It doesn't matter the weather they will never cancel school, my first year here we got three inches of ice they would not cancel it, this year we got over a foot of snow, they didn't plow the sidewalks and only plowed the main roads, even though Lakeland, Parkland and U of I canceled school, EIU would not. When I first arrived, my outlook was positive, however, it was changed almost immediatly when I discovered how self-obsessed everyone here is. If you are not a MAJOR partier, then DO NOT GO HERE! Unless your idea of fun is going out and getting drunk every night, then this is not the place. The English department is a joke! I had a teacher who took back certain finals and let people correct them. I had NOTHING to do all weekend. All there is to do is party, and get drunk. That is all anyone does.
