While I went on to retrain in engineering, my degree from Illinois State University proved totally worthless in finding employment. I recieved zero help in finding work- but I've lost track of the massive number of requests that I have received over the years for donations. I repeat, I never received one job offer based on my degree from this school- and that was over two decades ago.

I couldn't have chosen better than Illinois State. The chemistry department was very strong, offering a wide range of research and internship experience. Almost all classes I took university-wide were taught by faculty, not graduate students. I was a member of the honors society; being so opened doors to classes not offered to the general student body. The social scene is just right for college too. ISU doesn't baby students by leading them around on a leash and solving all their problems for them; it offers you the chance to become and adult. Anyone looking for a school large enough to offer many opportunities yet not too overwhelming in size should look at ISU.

All my friends from ISU are and have been employed raised families and are well adjusted. I feel ISU prepared students for the world ahead.
