Illinois State was a great time. The problem is that Illinois State is ONLY a great time. The administration, faculty, and staff go out of their way to consistently remind the students that they could care less. You are there to get them paid, period. And the less work they have to put into the process of you actually graduating, the better. The fees are ridiculous, the housing is a joke, and the town of Normal craps on you every chance they get. Other than that, the girls are pretty hot and getting laid is pretty easy. Enjoy!

The best part of Illinois State?s education program is the PDS program. This is the yearlong student teaching program, but it is very hard to get in to. The education program outside of that is terrible. The teachers give pointless assignment and change them every time you meet for class (the university changes the requirement on livetext) so NEVER plan on doing an assignment anytime except the night before or you will need to redo it. Livetext is a program teachers must post their assignments on so the school has access to them. This is a joke because the site is constantly down and almost never works. Most teachers also do not know how to use this program and are unable to help. If you think you are able to pick your electives think again. The sign up system is terrible and you will never get classes or times you want you are stuck with anything that is available that will fulfill the requirement. And education classes are always filled so plan on taking summer school to get your endorsements because the classes will not be available and they will jus say sorry you will need to stay an extra year unless you take summer school. If you want a math endorsement this is the worst part yet. These classes are impossible to get and you must wait in a 3 hour line to be put on a waiting list and told that because you are not a transfer student you will not qualify to get an override into the class. Its great that ISU is the only place where they want to please the students who go here for 2 years more than the suckers who attend their school all 4 years. This schools atmosphere is great and the nightlife is awesome but if you are going for an education go to U of I or Eastern.

I got the factory feel when I went to Isu. I was spending almost 3 times as much as I would at a community college and getting a much less satisfying education. I guess Isu is great if you love to drink yourself sloppy (I used to do it all the time, got old quick)and act like your accomplishing something in school. Don't get me wrong, your college experience is what you make of it and you can definitely have a good time at Isu. But when the general population of the school is a bunch of sloppy drunks, your bound to be influenced by that fact.
