Dont go here if you want to enjoy college the social life is downright awful...unattractive girls and boring sports....good academic rep is untrue....had many bad professors that were fired in subsequent years...pay way too much money for no added bonus....Avoid at all costs...

This is an overpriced school....If you are able to be self disciplined and attend class at a big university then the fact that this is a small school will add no benefit to you......You will pay too much for bad things...no social life....unattractive girls.....no added educational value....very low level athletic events....21 and over bars....only good thing is they have a great cafeteria.

Being a minority student oncampus is a joke. Minority groups get absolutely no respect/support from the rest of the school. Only a small handful of people attend the minority events no matter how much publication is made. However, we are expected to attend their events and be all peachy keen.

The school itself is very beautiful. It's quite a small institution meaning I can wake up at 8:50 and still make my 9 o'clock class on time. There are only a handful of buildings. DO NOT expect a social life at all. If you want a "good" party you have to head over to ISU, which appears a little better than Wesleyan when it comes to everything aside from academics. The parties here are lame as hell and all people do is sit around and drink beer and play beer pong. The music is whack as hell too. Don't expect to come here and join a Divine Nine sorority/fraternity unless you are doing it through ISU. We have been fortunate enough to have members of several Divine Nine orgs oncampus. There are other social, music, community fraternities though.

The teachers I have had thus far have been pretty nice. They know their stuff and expect you to get it. I have had some insanely funny ones and some insanely hard ones but all-in-all the faculty here is great.

As far as the surrounding area goes there are movie theaters, a bowling place, a mall or two, and some local places like Wal-Mart and ColdStone but after that...there is nothing. As someone once stated, once you reach a certain point thats it. It would be wise to have a car on this campus because none of these things are within walking distance. Coming from a big city I do not like the bus system here. Two run every hour and they do not operate on Sundays, wtf? Thats the day when I like to do my shopping! It's cheap to ride but expect to have to take atleast two buses to get anywhere. Once I had to wait an hour for a bus to take me somewhere that would have taken 5min in a car. I would say that Wesleyan is an 'average' school. The resources here are really good but if you're looking for a fun college experience I'd say go elsewhere or if u do come just chill at ISU as much as possible.
