Most of the classes I have taken at Lewis were a joke. Most of my teachers had really no clue what they were talking about. The teachers for the Criminal Justice System are old and have been out of the field for awhile, but still insist on teaching the things that they know from "back in the day." They are good guys, but most should have removed themselves from the teaching field long ago. It seems as if most of the teachers are just going through the motions and do not really care about teaching you anything useful. The school is very overpriced for the education you receive. They spend most of the money making the campus look nice (which it does) instead of getting competent teachers. I honestly wish I could give lower than F's for some of the grades. The main concern of the university is money, not the student!
If you're a HS student and want to contact me, do so at I would rather not put my school email down because it wouldn't surprise me at all if they tried to withhold my diploma for this.

I hate to say it, but I wasted 2 yrs and $30,000+ on what turned out to be nothing but a waste of time. The aviation department is built around 30yr old planes. And unless your over 6ft tall, they stick you in a tiny little 152. I learned nothing but how NOT to instruct new students. Now have my private from a school that has brand new Cirrus sr-20, for the same price I was paying for their antiquated 152's. Stay away, stay far away.

Lewis did everything they could to keep me from succeding in the real world. I recently graduated from the aviation department and the skills i was taught are best suited for a 172, and nothing more.
None of the instructors are very good. My last one even scared me at times with his lack of competence. They all seem overly concerned with sucking up to management, and looking cool infront of students. This is not the place to get real world experience.I have taught my students more this summer, than you could learn in 4 years at lewis.
