 | Bright | | MBI is evangelical. If you're not evangelical you will not be accepted nor will you want to attend. They have pretty strict rules (cannot drink, dance, go to a pub, etc.). Some tried to fight this, but in my view if you don't want to live by them go somewhere else. I didn't mind the rules when I attended, but I wouldn't want to live by them now. Moody is different than other schools in that alot of extra things are required: weekly Christian ministry, chapel, a signed statement of belief, living rules are much stricter than other schools, etc.) They they do not take for granted you are doing these things, they actually check. I found Moody to be Christian overload at time and I felt I had to confine myself to a certain strict belief system in classes. The theological debates and discussions in class concern mostly "in-house" debates (calvinism vs arminianism, premillennialism vs amillennialism, etc.). There is a lack of diversity in belief among professors so you will learn well mainly dispensationalism and calvinism. If you are not absolutely convinced you are called to full time ministry I would not go to Mooody (they won't accept you anyways unless they are convinced you are). I'm not sure that Moody is always the right decision if one believes they are called. I learned alot at Moody, made many good friends, and do not regret going. However, I have changed alot since I graduated 4 years ago. | Campus Maintenance: A+, Education Quality: C | | | |

| | Average | Must have an already solid relationship with Jesus before coming to this school, not for people still questioning where they are in their faith. Students are cream of the crop in full-time ministry, though don't let that fool you, there are still those that can bring the rest down. Overall great school. | Surrounding City: A+, Campus Maintenance: B- | | | |

| | Quite Bright | If you are interested in going into full time ministry or have the desire to obtain a church leadership position, then by all means Moody is probably a great place for you. However, if you just want to get a good grasp on the Bible but want to pursue a "secular" career path, then do not apply. Excluding the amount of close-mindedness at this institution (in a recent survey 96% of the student body was for John McCain), my biggest gripe is that this school does not prepare you for secular graduate school or the real work place. There are many graduates of this school that are working as administrative assistances or at starbucks. Needless, to say I will be transfering from this school, as I need a college that is going to equip me for law school. | Campus Maintenance: A+, Collaboration/Competitive: F | | | |
